I have this brilliant idea:
Let's go to a bunch of game site forums (example: GameFAQs) and start topics such as "Outpost 2 Fan Site" or something. This will hopefully get people more interested in the game again!

Actaully, we have done things like this. This was back in the days when I first got the xfir.net domain, however.

i and op2hacker have posted on a few sites recencly.
once op2sock is done we planing on posting more.
also i was thinking that 2 become a member u have 2 find a forum and post on it, its not hard cuz ur just have 2 paste premade text etc.
more sites/forums we post on the better.

1 problem with that, what if they post on a forum that recently died?

Mm....I'd be up for spreading the Outpost word in an Australian gaming magazine forum - PCPowerplay. I'm a well-known member and moderator there, so I'd attract some attention, but I would like a few of you guys to join up and post some propaganda of your own. :)

let's see, the 2 forumites that I'm trying to get to try it are way too bussy (I believe them, life's hectic at times)

i might be able to speak to an editor of a major games maganize here in portugal... but i don't promise anything. the only thing he could pull out for WoW (World Of Warcraft, BIG MMORPG comin out from Blizzard) was half a page... but i guess it won't hurt trying. i'll try posting on some big game forums around...
The only thing i'm worried about it's because 60% of the portuguese game fac comunity is... how would i say... imagine that cs player that doesn't shut up, acuses you of cheting every frag you score, yadda yadda yada, and the minute you connect to server you already want to rip his guts out... Those are the majority of the portuguese players =\

if there's a problem, they'll have to deal with players like Paco (very big ego (hehehe, I have such evil thoughts)) or if they are on the forum x, Hacker, phil, lev, beta, or I will deal with them (most likely lev or I. If I remember correctally, you hate to be accused of cheating, right lev?)

I've been trying to get a lot of my friends to play. Some of which still have copys....(mumble...mumble..WHY WON'T THEY LET ME COPY IT!!!) whoops :P. Anyways at the moment I've only been able to get 1 of them to come in to IRC. I hope to be able to bring them back to play OP2... :unsure: I Hope

i got it! we could right it on the moon in english so everyone could see it and those who didnt speak english would get curious and learn english so we wouldnt have any language barriers

It would be too hard to write it on the Moon, because what if an asteroid crashed into it? :P
Maybe we could pay Disney to have the address to the site on one of their parade floats. That'll be, what, a million dolars a letter? :lol:

i've spoken to the editor already. with a big ammount of luck, an article about op2 (more spcificaly, op2 universe) will be printed on the maganize. half a page problably. will post on some foruns once op2socks is done.
btw, as i can see, there was another portuguese gamer before me... Cctoide... was he any good? :P
