Does anyone still use PkZip? Or do you use Win Zip?
I remember using PK Zip to unzip Commander Keen games off of the internet when I was like six.
But now I use winzip.
-
Never heard of it. I think that everyone and their dog uses Winzip. Maybe WinRar might also be used though.
-
I use WinZip and WinRAR
PKZip was used b4 any of those though, like back in the 1990-1996 or around that time.
-
I use Winzip and zipti...
wait, we are talking all forms of computers, right?
-
I think so, I just remember PKZip being a dos extraction program.
you'd have to type it like this
c:>pkunzip woot.zip >>c:>
That means to unzip the file to the c drive.
It's been so long since I have used Dos though that I have forgotten alot of the commands.

zipti, the best way to compress files on your ti graphing-calculator
:heh:
-
Ti graphing calc, I am too cheep to buy the pc connector lol.
Neways, I guess people are still using the old dos version.
This surprises me.
-
I think they have a graphical PKZip for windows. It's good to use PKZip because most people don't buy winzip. (That's why I use other free zipping programs! :) )
-
I have Winzip 9.0 with the KeyGen, so I don't have to worry about the evaluation copy thing popping up.
So I would have to say No I don't PKWare Utilites.
-
oic, yah, I kindof guessed that they would have a graphical version, I was just wondering if any1 still used it, now that there are so many out there.
I don't mind the evaluation thing, but I use winRAR more now (Since it can do Zip and RAR)
-
I only use WinRAR to Extract RAR File.
But WinZip is the one I use often.
-
Yah, I found out about winRAR when I needed to extract the Advanced Starcraft Map Editor
-
For zip I just use WinXP "Zipped folder".
For rar, ace, tgz, etc I use WinRAR.
I have used PKUNZIP on my old Dos "Zenith EazyPC" to unzip text-games etc. (Since it only allows 720KB disks to be used)

Well, I'm glad to see that at least one person used to use the DOS version!
