Post by: it2000us on January 27, 2004, 09:20:01 PM
Heres one i just finished OP2 Wall (http://nhgz.com/hosted/trance-freak/iframeone/wallpapers/outpost/vits_op2.jpg). This is New Terra in a nebulae near a star that has gone nova.

This is part of my pack called Voyage In To Space. In witch i will have about 10 space scenes wallpapers. I got 4 done already.

I finaly got enough inspiration to make a wallpaper. The down part of this is that it has nothing to do with op2. Its just an abstract wallpaper, but never the less you should check it out.

The "wisps/trails" look so soft. I wonder what the thing in the back is though, Pyramid ?

it, you should realy think about doing this as a little side job.  You got talent with computer imaging, and since it's something you obviously enjoy, why not make some money off of it?
Title: Wallpaper OP2

CK9 ur a little late on that, ive been working for money for about a year now.
Right now im just in hybernation, i just need to remake my web portfolio and ill be working again. But as i said before, i realy lack major motivation/inspiration to do anything rite now.

Um, what thing in the back Z?

it may be a little off, but for those who don't know, that's from Rush Hour.

Behind the picture you can see a clear distinction like a...
Code: [Select]
 _______________
|        /      \     |
|      /          \   |
|     /             \ |
With that being the first half of the picture.

Pyramid with a funny texture ?

Title: Wallpaper OP2
Post by: Zircon on April 10, 2004, 03:50:28 PM
*sits* *makes hindu guru stance* *humms*
My son...
Head my words of wisdom, a teacher is useless. The key to knowledge is by experimentation *cough*" and reading tutorials on the web and understanding the layer concept "*cough*  ^_^

Seriously though in order to become your own teacher you...
1: need a functional copy of photoshop, you also need basic knowledge of the tools on the left side (erase, brush etc etc)

2: need to understand that you have different layers in photoshop. Layer 1 is background layer 2 is whatever you want and so on. This makes it easy to edit things you dont like and have many different effects that you combine.

3: You need a source of information such as a tutorial website.

When you have nr 1 and 2 you are basicly your own teacher and the knowledge you can gain is only limited by will... and time... plus inspiration/fantasy...

Experimentation is also a golden key.

Am i incorrect IT ? I think it sounds pretty sane...

Forum: Zircon talking about sanity (http://www.bonetweb.com/Zircon/smilies/crazy.gif)

Some of us get hit by the ILS (Inspiration Loss Syndrome :heh: ) and it2000us seems to have been hit by it recently...

*currently looking for a basics photoshop tutorial site*
Title: Wallpaper OP2
Post by: CK9 on April 10, 2004, 04:00:08 PM
That's the problem, the toturials that it gave me links to are confusing.

I want to find those weird tools that allow you to do texturing (if that makes sence) anyone can do the actual coloring using it (i can, so anyone should be able to).

actually, I don't :heh:
Title: Wallpaper OP2
Post by: Zircon on April 10, 2004, 04:08:01 PM
I use texturing in 3dsmax and you use textures to give pictures a certain "style" in photoshop so i cant say i exactly know what you're pointing at.

Anyway this site brings up a couple of the basics, there may be better ones there may be worse.

problem:  I have the same version, just not all the same tools :|
Title: Wallpaper OP2
Post by: Zircon on April 10, 2004, 04:21:04 PM
hmm, you do know that if you right click a tool (like the marquee tool) you get additional tools ?

The tools you're looking for may be hidden like the paint button under the gradient one (right click)...

And if you're using photoshop 5 i'd suggest getting a newer version, newer versions are more power hungry though. on second thought it's not really a requirement, it may make reading tutorials simpler though.

It's Adobe Photoshop 7

I've looked all through it.

Exactly what tool are you looking for ?
Title: Wallpaper OP2
Post by: it2000us on April 10, 2004, 04:34:58 PM
CK9, before u start wiping out images, u need to familiarize you'r self with the interfase, u have to know where each tool is located. If you dont know you'r tools then u cans use Photoshop. It took me about a week to finaly learn the function/location of the most basic tools that i currently use.

PS: OMG Z talking about sanity? what has happened to u?
Title: Wallpaper OP2
Post by: CK9 on April 10, 2004, 04:38:23 PM
Okay, I think I understand all the tools now (after 3 months of trying to learn to do something other than make smilies)
