I haven't played Outpost 2 since I was 10 (or so, and I'm 24 now), and I still remember it very well. I'm glad that others do too. It's such an intelligent game. I wish they made more games like it today.
The closest to it I ever saw again was Earth 2150, which also involves building a spaceship using minerals to escape a doomed planet. I'm tempted to think that, between the focus on resource mining and warfare that that game also has, its developers played Outpost 2 first. :op2:

Hello Arist, glad to see you found your way to outpost universe. This community is still around, surprisingly. I never played Earth 2150, thou I always found Rise of Nations to be a lot like Outpost 2.

Welcome indeed.

Welcome to opu, Aristocles.
Yea, today's games are so different. Not only are other genres more popular - also are the few remaining rts games less complex (and thus more boring). So, lets at least keep Outpost 2 alive.
