Patch idea
-
Can you explain how a repair route would be useful?
Its not like always the same building/unit needs repairing. The only exception are Tokamaks and I'd like to keep them challenging in order to give people an incentive to build other power sources.
-
Well say you have a defensive line of vehicles and turrets. Manually selecting a repair vehicle or spider and repairing each individual unit can be a chore.
So, set the repair vehicle into a patrol route. On its route if it finds a damaged building or vehicle it repairs it, then continues its patrol. This way you could also use Repair Vehicles in a more field sense.
-
A better solution would be to improve automatic repairing. Having to select every individual unit is too tedious. Its usually more worth the effort to keep mass producing tanks instead of repairing them (and repair routes would not make a huge difference).
-
I agree keep producing tanks but, being able to repair some will reduce your attrition levels, and allow you to overall have more tanks than your opponent.
If you can save 3 thor tigers from certain death, its worth having the repair route as those take a while to build and are extremely costly to rebuild.

I would simply like a auto-repair function, like TH300 suggested.
Although it's more like "introduce" than "improve".
-
Hmm maybe I might not have been clear on what I meant. For a repair route on the frontline I'd have like 12 repair vehicles or 30 spiders running around so that every single unit could be repaired all at the same time. Spiders would die by the score by acid cloud but otherwise theyd keep the vehicles alive and well.
-
So, you are suggesting that repair vehicles drive along a given path and automatically repair all damaged units which they encounter and after doing that continue moving along the path?
I have the feeling that this would be too much automation. Controlling units manually is part of op2 and shouldn't be taken away.

Precisely my suggestion.
If it don't get patched it doesn't get patched. As long as my idea has been heard I'm fine.
