So, how many of you guys actually play OP2 still?

The longest time I have not played Outpost 2 was maybe 2 months... sense I was 7.

I do still play op2. At least that is how I see it. Sometimes I don't play it for months, but I always come back to it.

I hop on single every now and then because I find the tank-warfare style combat fun.

Hm... I just thought of an interesting mod. Have turrent turn-rate set really low, this was flanking becomes more worth it, allowing some what more realistic tank warfare.

Even halving the turn speed could have some interesting results

I was thinking, double the speed of the max speed of the game in order to make it even more interesting....not sure if it is a good idea, but it might be.

Considering the game becomes pretty much unmanageable by mid-game at max speed currently, I highly doubt that would be a good idea. There is just too many things going on that requires the players attention that would make it become impossible to play if the gameplay was any faster. The complexity per second would be too high.

A quote from an Extra Credits episode on Depth v Complexity = "If you had to perform the mental calculations of a turn-based strategy game in a First Person Shooter, then the game would be utterly unmanageable."

You increase the game speed, and that situation would come into Outpost 2.

Indeed, I don't think the game would be manageable if it was much faster. There is not as much to do in OP2 as in some other RTS games but still, I struggle to keep up and my micro is generally not great.. should use them stickyfoams more! :)
