Title: Futureboy

I stumbled upon this forum the other day -- it's great to see people posting on a forum from such an old but awesome game (Outpost 1 -- I can't speak for Outpost 2).

I was curious if anyone knows where the source code ended up after Sierra went bye-bye? I think it would be a fantastic game to bring back. I've since switched to Mac and think it would be a great game for the app store for either the Mac or the iPad and hope that I can get someone to bring it back.

Welcome futureboy.

I can only talk about Outpost2 which is owned by VU after they bought Sierra. VU is currently not interested in Outpost2 and, it seems, not even aware of it.

Today we'd rather avoid to contact them about it, to avoid legal issues.

So sad! Such a great game. When I read about NASA's interest in building its own MMO game for exploring Mars, etc. I immediately thought of Outpost.

Do you know where I could possibly get Outpost for Mac? The original? I scoured the internet and can't find a mention of it.

I don't know if there is a mac version of Outpost. You can find the windows version here (http://outpost2.net/outpost1.php). Maybe you can use Wine to run it.

Depends on how bad you want it:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00...8&condition=new (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004WYBAD6/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new)

I was unable to locate a copy available online for download after a psuedo-intensive search (45 minutes). If you do manage to locate one, I wouldn't mind finding out where from so I can obtain a copy for my records.

Hello!

Just to get it known, please avoid contacting the developers bugging them for the source.  We had a problem with that for a while and Dan got really annoyed with people asking about it.  (not saying you would do that, just taking some preemptive measures, heh)
