Title: 3 vs 3 Last one strategy
Post by: CK9 on December 20, 2003, 05:00:23 PM: okay, I'd like to get some people together to try this one out, 'cause I think can work:

team composition:

1 miner/weapons builder: needs to be someone who research the weaponry fast
- and can get several mines and smelters up instantly (I know Leviathan can do it,
- so if you want to try this out, I'd suggest you going through training with him)

1 defence commander: needs to be able to control the vehicles in such a way that
- no mercy attacking turns into no survivor retreating. it would also be benifitial
- for them to make an entrance that would anialate an army of up to 20 units

1 attack expert: needs to be a good strategist who can find the weak spots in a
- defence (again, I know Lev is good at this. Training would be benifitial.)(a
- player named Paco claims to be good. I'd seek him out for some tips.)

after you start the game and get your initial smelter operation going (as in, build it, build the mine, set 3 or so trucks on an ore route), do these, try to do them as fast as you can (simutaneously if possible)

build your robo miners (however many you want for beacons) (preferably before researching rare ore or that other hit points crap, because they cost less before those researches). While you are doing this be going around with the robo surveyor and trying to find 3bar Common (these give out the highest ore per trip) and also research metallogeny if you haven't already (increases common ore yields for more ore/trip)

You can also be making a smelter for each mine in the factories. load these into convecs as soon as the factory is done (just hit the space bar when it says the kit's done to go there fast). Make 3 or so trucks for each mine.

once you find good places to make mines get your miners there right away and make the mines.

Then to speed it up even more make tubes down by the mines and build the smelters hooked up to those. You could also get dozers there and bulldoze between the smelter and mine to make the trucks go faster on the land.

now, set the ore routes.... (make sure you don't put too many trucks on one route to keep it from getting stopped up)

then, you should have like 3 smelters and 3 mines operating.

to make it go even faster, research the advanced power plant research and the other stuff that makes the cargo trucks go faster.

im not 2 sure on what u mean by if ' the strategy is successful'
well u mean geting 6 ppl 2 play and having 1 from each team doing that.
but thats not realy how it works in real op2 games, 1 person cant just work on defence for the whole team.

stragities for 3v3s imo r 1 person is eden, 1 person doubble vech fac rushs and build mainly lynx. at the start of the game u make sure ur team takes the midle (this is for pie) so that eden cant b picked off. also ur team should send stickys 2 eden's back unless he/she is in middle. eden should go for rare. other ply player should go for back smelter as other ply player goes 4 2nd vech fac.

Clicking the Structures does not equal speed.

I like it in ways, like, you can "use" it, like snowboarding/skiing, and you can throw it at people (once at school we had a snow ball fight inside the bus ;) ) and it makes you have to skip school (ie. snow day)

but I hate it because it's cold when you want to be warm, and you have to clean it off the driveway etc.

So, feeling like teaching a lesson, I start walking towards the wilderness, the one place where non-members can kill other players. He catches on and says before walking away: "Stupid noob coward!"
