Title: Greetings

Hello everyone. Just call me Jax. I am pretty much new to the Outpost community and I have a few questions and some problems.
I remember playing Outpost 1 as a kid and I loved it even though I have never figured out how to play it. I didn't even know there was an Outpost 2 until I stumbled onto this website yesterday. That being said, I have no clue how to play either game. I like OP2 and would love to be able to figure out how to play it but the tutorial is broken and the .hlp file I've found in the forums does not work.
I get this error:
Cannot display this file. Try opening the file again, and if you still get this message, copy the file to a different drive and try again.
I get that message twice and the second time has "(136)" after the error message.
I have Windows 7 and I have downloaded the help file reader from the microsoft website and it still does not work.
I am at a loss as I don't know how to play the game and I really would like to. So if there is a way for me to get the help file in another format or if there is a tutorial somewhere, that would be great.

Jax

Yes, but for some reason it's still not included in our download package.

You can get it here: http://outpostuniverse.net/files/Outpost2.hlp (http://outpostuniverse.net/files/Outpost2.hlp)

Note that the tutorials are pretty much useless anyways.  They'll teach you some gameplay mechanics, but if you really want to learn the game you'll need to play multiplayer with us.  Just expect to lose a lot for awhile.  ;)

No, the Help viewer from Microshaft's website doesn't work. You'll need a third-party program. I use Help Explorer 3 (http://download.cnet.com/Help-Explorer-Viewer/3000-6675_4-10666661.html). While it's certainly not the best and has the annoying feature of not supporting Open With..., it'll do.

I have a video tutorial on youtube. Check my signature for links. They cover most of the needed parts, but they are lacking still.

Welcome, and hop on the IRC channel if you want to play.
