I was wondering if anyone knew of what specs I should keep an eye out for on wireless routers/attennas when setting up an outdoor wirless network.

Nope, but I will say you better make sure it's encrypted.

Meaning WPA, not Weak Encryption Protocol (WEP).

yes encryption is important,
we had free internet, so we did not encrypt,
but my dead neighbor's daughtor's boyfeind, used our network to download illegal porn, know by hacking into a passwordless administrator account :P
and now my hyperactive security rep. father put up a 63 charter WPA on our wire less...
