Played it some more today after seeing some of the old beta screen shots. And so much lost because they hurried production and I got to thinking what a kick ass game OP could be if they gave the game enviroment real physics partical motion etc...
It would be killer...Seed Factory making its landing could have a thruster malfunction and crash adding an "oh s***" challenge at the begining of the game. Having a seemless solar system like in spore...think of what could be done if the enviroment is procedurally generated?
God I wish some real effort was put into sim games like that again. :(

Uh... You do realize no computer would have ever been able to run what you're suggesting back then, right...?
And why does OP1 need a physics engine?

Do you know if it is possible to obtain OP1 source code?

Didn't you already ask this? No. We don't even know what happened to the OP1 source code. It was probably destroyed along with the OP2 source and everything else when Dynamix went under.
