Does anyone remember that WON moderator, who was a girl, that everyone was in love with (as ridiculous as the idea is)? Everyone (EVERYONE) would always take a minute to say hi to her, just to see her type back, "Hiya (insert username)!" It was quite ridiculous but added a lot of personality to WON. So... that is all.
:op2: Luke
-
... umm.
Sorry, I was never on WON, but for what this is worth...
Hiya Luke!
:P
-
The memories...
-
YES I remember that. I played against her once. It hurt so good.
-
Falcon and Mem are the females from WON I remember.
-
Adding a few more:
- Tasha (longtime secretary of the shadow clan)
- Horsegirl (Changed her name later on, think she joined Black Dragons)
- Red Sonya (Ran ADL together with Norad)
- Amyrlin Seat (Think it was a female hiding behind this nick, though I'm not 100% sure)
Got the feeling I've left a few out, but I can't remember any others right now..
-
Some of the better players where female...what was paco's sister's username?
-
Just wondering, are there any females here at the OPU? I think it always adds an interesting element to games, knowing that you're playing against the Female Mind. The sad truth of the matter is, not a lot of girls play games.
-
Yes there are... But i don't remeber the nick anymore...
-
lol Luke you cant coax them out of hiding. if i were them i wouldnt be advertising my gender here. i remember i had a good game with *someones* sister once and then toward the end her brother took over and owned me. im assuming it was paco.
-
I dunno, in my opinion, I think playing games with girls sometimes adds kind of a nice balance. Granted, I wouldn't want that all the time, but it's nice to shake things up. I can think of a billion reasons that a female would not want to reveal her gender on the internet in general, but here at OPU, would she have a reason? Honestly, maybe she would... but you guys seem like a great bunch nevertheless... so far... :D
C'mon, show yourselves! I promise at least I will be nice.
Plus you'll probably kick my trash at OP2 anyway.

That seems like a peculiar thing to say. Why would it matter?

This is actually a good reason in itself why someone might not want to "reveal" themselves. Would you rather be known as someone who contributes to the forum or plays good games, or simply be known as:
"That girl that beat me."
"That girl everyone stopped by to say hi to."
"That girl on WON"
I'm not saying anything about what people think, but for some reason some people get giddy and goofy about the whole thing.

WoW is a very good example of this. Have you seen the stuff that goes on when it comes to females on WoW.... i tell you, I have a 32 Human Mage (Female) and I get hit on all the time - please note that I personally am Male.
-
You don't see a lot of female players mostly because they have different interests then males. It boils down to a psychology.
Then there is the fact that a lot of female do not feel comfortable in the mostly male dominated areas of the internet. This has mostly to do with people being able to hide themselves behind the lies that are so easy to generate behind the computer. Not to mention all the sexual flax they get from anonymous people. And other such things that males talk about so openly on the internet when they can get away with it.
oh yes I think the only female player that still comes around is Mem.
-
Yeah, I guess it's all pretty obvious. I suppose my general feeling is that as the gaming world is dominated by males, it's just kind of fun to know if there are girls participating. It adds a sense of balance. In general, women think and act differently than men, adding yet more variety to the way games are played. You could compare it to a road trip, when it's just you and a few other guys, it can be a blast, but in my opinion, it's always fun to have girls along too, even if you have no romantic interest in them whatsoever.
I'm pretty sure this topic is milked for what it's worth... :P
-
It seems like mostly guys playing, but then you get players like Falcon and Mem...they're just so awesome at the game. The best thing about playing against the female mind is that there is less cahnce of a sore loser or an overbering winner. I get so pissed off at people who get all cocky 'cause they beat me one time after I killed them several times in a row and only said "good game" or "good efforet" afterwards -.-
-
I found another one... but i think she was not at WON or i just don't remeber: Accela (http://forum.outpostuniverse.net/index.php?showuser=520)

I don't remember an Accela from WON
-
Me neither
-
They sign on and off AIM every once in a while though..
-
anyone remember that southpark where Bebe gets breast implants and suddenly all the guys think shes "really cool" but dont know why? yeah this reminds me of that...
something to remember is that most of the the guys who play games online are an only child or are single. having a relationship precludes participating properly in gaming so yeah. games = single.
never believe someone is female. there are no girls on the internet. also, according to dateline if you ever found a real female youd probably somehow be hauled in by the FBI.

?!
?!
it's PROOFED that girls are most of players in online games. (64% BELIVE IT OR NOT)
So don't you "there are no girls on the internet" dude.
-
Heh, right you are Savant
-
LOL Really who the f*** cares if a girl plays.
Just dont go "text humping" them. If i see it on here at opu youll visit will be a short one.

How about one of our moderators clean up this thread, so it actually stays on it's original topic ?

Cassie(I believe) was the name of the female moderator who came on I believe twice a week... she was very vocal and would join games every so often (if she liked you). Terrie or Terry(can't remember) was her superior who I only seen twice, once bc I "trash talked" Cassie and she threatened to use their "new toy" on me, I kept on and out of no where Terry popped up into the chat and told me to calm down. Of course I didn't and my name NWO was banned ever since. I was the first to receive a "name ban" or as they said "their new toy". I was banned 2 times before for "fighting" w/ other players but figured out they banned people by their windows operating #, reformatted w/ a different copy of windows, and I was on in no time. The 2nd time i seen Terry was when the (aka)Una_Bomber situation happened, I'm not sure if any of you remember him. But what happened was, he was a red shirt moderator who flipped out on She-Wolf and banned her several times along w/ over 30 people(multiple times) in the process. They actually had to call for the WON "Sysop" to check out the situation, it was the only time I had ever seen a "black shirt" moderator on WON. But yea hope that answered your question about who the women mods were.
-
Also !Thor! was created by a female Vixen of Thor I believe her name was... they also had another member who was a female who i believe was quite pretty, don't remember the name though, she could've been vixen. It's been sooooo long since I've seen the names and talked to 'em so I could've got them mixed up!
-
I very rarely saw any of the mods, but I do remember seeing a black shirt once...
-
Yea mods came on a lot during the busy hours of op2 when it was first out and usually every weekend. Black mods usually only came on if something major is happening.
-
cloner must have been spotted that day or something...I hope his ass got IP banned
-
Green Shirts = Assistant Mods
Red Shirts = Mods
Yellow Shirts = Tournament Directors
Blue Shirts = Regular Users
Purple Shirt = Yourself
Black Shirt = Game Developer (I think ?)
Any other color ?
-
Green shirts = down fall of op2... lol maybe not, but they were pointless. But I believe that's all the shirts... the only black shirt I seen was on as the name "Sysop"....
Sysop (pronounced /ˈsɪs.ɑp/, or more rarely, /ˈsaɪ.sɑp/) is short for "system operator". It is a commonly used term for the administrator of a bulletin board system (BBS) or special-interest area of an online service or, historically, the operators of any computer system, especially a mainframe computer.
So more of the overall "lead" of WON rather than a game developer.
But yea I think that's all the color of shirts, could be wrong.
