Title: Oputool V1.3.2 Has Been Released!
Post by: leeor_net on December 17, 2005, 03:16:59 AM
OPUTool v1.3.2 has been released and is now ready for download!

This new versions includes:
OPUTool now has a spiffy, shiny new Web site so it's a lot easier on the eyes!

Unfortunatly, the WorldMap entries were lost in the problems with OPU's server about prior to this release so users who would like to add their pins should download the new OPUTool and use the new WorldMap funtionality.

Related Releases:
In the very near future I will also upload a stand-alone WorldMap for users who would like to place/view pins but would rather not use OPUTool's main program or have limited connections and simply are unable to download OPUTool (not that it's particularly huge).

Anyway, The biggest new addition is the ability to use the Mozilla/FireFox browser technology instead of IE's. However, you must have the most recent versions of either browser (as of this post) in order for it to work properly. Previous versions have not been tested so OPUTool's behavior with these browsers is unpredictable.

You can download OPUTool by visiting its Home Page:

Thanks for the support and enjoy!

Hehe... whoops. I forgot to include a bunch of files in there... damn installer. I'll be creating an installer real soon so I'll get people up to speed and running once I get the installer package working.

Sorry about that. I forgot them in my haste to release a working program... hehe...

Alright. I've got the installer created and it's uploaded. I tested it on the other two computers I have that are non-development and it seems to operate pretty well.

I'll post a direct link: http://tool.outpostuniverse.net/downloads..._v1.3.2_eng.msi (http://tool.outpostuniverse.net/downloads/oputool_v1.3.2_eng.msi)

It can also be downloaded from the website.

Also note that I'm opening up a bug-reports thread for this version which can be found here: http://forum.outpostuniverse.net/index.ph...=ST&f=49&t=2413 (http://forum.outpostuniverse.net/index.php?act=ST&f=49&t=2413)

Thanks for your patience and support! I hope that OPUTool is as useful to you as it is for me!

Well, as OPU grows and as I continue to get suggestions and develop OPUTool, it can only get better. So I thank you, the users of OPUTool.

Please note that I'm ALWAYS looking for new suggetions. Stormy, for instance, has suggested that I add a tabbed view for the browsers for both IE/Mozzilla. I think it would certainly add a whole lot to the program and it's something that I just simply hadn't thought of but will certainly be something that I will attempt to add.

So it's those kinds of suggestions that are always helpful. Of course, it's also helpful to know who is using the program and whether or not it's being utilized or not. so that's something that I'm hoping will help to boost development.
