it doesn't matter WHAT scripts you have installed![ol type=\'1\'][li]connection depends on the program - not the script[/li][li]since quakenet (or any other server that uses asuka) won't accept ctpc's to channels, and blocks colors - having scripts is nice, but if you can't use them...[/li][li]dumb scripts (like most bots are -for example: fishbot, opu|bot, dogb0t, Penguinbot, etc etc) are useless anyway. And u don't need an extra bot for opping or voicing people, since Q or L can do that just fine (btw: a voice+ has no effect in non-moderated channels)[/li][li]a script does not get u g-lined or k-lined: an ISP k-line can result in u being k-lined as well, for no obvious reason. Nasty language can get u g/k-lined. I've even seen servers that block anyone who has either port 80, 21 or 23 open on their machine, or people using proxy's or some servers will NOT let u connect if u don't have an identd running (port 113). There could be many other reasons for k- or g-lines[/li][/ol]
There is no reason why everyone should download and use the script you are using ('you' meaning anyone reading this, not particularly ZZJ :) ), so don't force it down people's throats, and please don't get upset if someone isn't using 'your' fav script or client. I have a fav IRC client as well, i like it, but i'm not forcing anyone to get it. Even so: i don't "sell" its address. If people want to know what i'm using : ask - try it out - remove it, if u don't like.

I hope this IRC-war can be resolved soon, so we can get on with what we're suppose to be doing: playing OP2 & coding new missions

OPU|Bot is necisary b/c L only supports 20 people on it. we have well over 50 on OPU|Bot and we don't meet the requirements of Q.

Asuka dosen't block colors, unless you have mode +c [no control codes] set.

fishbot and OPU|Bot arn't scripts, they are programs. Most bots tho are mric-scripted (yuk!).

so how come i never see 50 ops in ANY of the channels ? i don't even think we have 50 PEOPLE coming to our chatrooms.. so thats bull.  If L can support 20 people, then it can well handle our 6 or so auto-ops (uhm,., Levi, Hacker, Freeza, ZZJ .. are there more..?)

then don't set +c. And besides that - asuka DOES NOT accept CTCPs to channels.

it doesn't matter WHAT u call them - they're silly anyway.. fishbot is fun for 5 mins, after that it's just a plaything for n00bs or people feeling bored

asuka accepts channel ctcps with mode -C [no chan ctcps].

true about we don't have 50 people on, but then we would still need OPU|Bot to handle voicing if we don't use Q.

again: then don't use it.

Since we';re talking about channel modes: if you make a channel +m (moderated) THEN you need +v modes for voicing people. With no +m mode - you don't NEED voices :P  hence, you STILL don't need a bot. And besides: the bot doesn't have to to be programmed with every single chatter to auto-voice someone.

Eddy doesn't like the '+', right?
It is easier to unvoice one person than voicing all others, thus voicing people automatically DOES make sense. Whether the '+' as a sign of community membership is necessary is another question.

and +C /+c are there for a reason:
colors and controlcodes can be VERY disturbing and they make the chat less readable.
I don't know what you can do with CTCPs, but I guess they're also disturbing.
