I'm Chris Merchant, A.K.A thablkpanda, I've played OP2 since 2000, when a friend of mine loaned me the CD. I was instantly addicted, to a game that was easily three years old! I became a avid single player, player, and became highly advanced at playing campaign and starship modes.. I found the AI to be boring. And dropped the game.
Five years later, I was browsing the internet, and was brought to a page completely about outpost 2. A group of people playing outpost 2 via TCP/IP? Impossible! But I'd found them. And immediately became intrigued. I joined IRC and now play more than ever before!
(Odd how i find this so exciting with exclimation points and stuff. lol)
