The Outpost Universe team is the group who decides the main stuff for the community. Like updates, priorities, what needs doing etc. These are the people who are ops in IRC and help people out with things as well.
Currently they are: Leviathan, op2hacker, Hooman, Mezza and Moogle.
People we were considering ourselves:
CK9, Baikon, xamlit and Eddy-B.
We feel now that this core team should be made up of more members and needs more involvement from others.
Who thinks they can help out to run things?

I don't have problems with the team, as long as I can have a voice and I am listened.
For example I'd like to know what is going on with updates and Op2 hacking stuff, so I can get involved when possible.

great neutrino, give you opions like and one else, and the more people get involed the better.

Yeah no worry we make sure people who are on the OPU team have an autovoice. they also get to wear an "OPU|" before their name in the channels.
As long as you stay devoted to the game and stay up to date everywhere (forums, IRC, etc) you have a good chance of getting in.

I dont think he asked to be in...
He just wants us to make sure we take on board what people suggest etc.
Also its hard to make the updates to what people want because mostly its new maps and stuff, which take a lot of time, and we havta to protise our projects.
And if your part of the community, your voice will be heard, but if you dont post to the issues we have posted (like many people havent) we cant fully know what everyone wants or feels.

Yeah if you stay active and tell us what you want to see / don't want to see, we know what you want.

i would like to join the Opu team, i think i would be casue i spend alot of time on,i have a good basis with html,lingo,some vb etc and that i think op2 is the best game ever made.

A certain level of maturity and self control is required to be on the OPU|team.
I you can demonstarate this then we might consider it.

I'm often very mature... If I get over... ah.. lets say EXCITED, I just leave, take a break... Thats all I've ever done. Of course, there are some people that really try my patience...

i'm generally too unreliable to take on any mantles or responsibility... i have enough trouble looking after Ezekel...

A bit of a delayed response, but yeah, they kinda do get on your case if you don't have the OPU name prefix. <_<

Eddy is part of the Development team, he can stick with 'Eddy-B' as his irc nick.

I would like to help out with opu as well, and i'm not planning on going anywhere anytime soon. I know a bit of Html, some java and javascript, learning c++, and know ti-basic (68k).
EDIT: I agree with the names listed above too. (baikon, eddy-b, ck9, xamlit)

Drat! I wish I could use mIRC. I'll have to reformat my comp. Oh goodness. Well anyway, I don't really know anyone I can recommend, but I know I sure liked the people who were @ last time i was on mIRC. I talked with Moogle for a really long time. He's a really cool person. (Like all of you don't know that :-P). I can't be on this team, because I kind of forgot this place existed for... how long was it?

We simpley dont need any more team members right now. And if we do take another one in, it will most likey be zigzagjoe, because he is the type of person this comunity needs, dedicated to OP2, allways online, able to help with diff things, etc

Great! you should hold a poll to see if people will support him being on the team.
See, I lack all of that - I don't have any knowledge of what you need, I am only online for short bursts of time followed by long periods where I don't even come to a forum. And I can't even play OP2.
That's it. I'm gonna learn Java and maybe then I'll be worth something to online communities.

I'm confused??? isn't CK9 already part of the team? I idea was that CK9 is a GM, doesn't that make him part of the team already?

no, being a GM does not make u in the team, it makes u a GM.

I haven't been around very long, but i'm always on IRC, so if ya'll decide to OPU| me, i'd appreciate it, I can help ya'll run things a bit. Not like I'm the BEST player either, but i show good sportsmanship when i get owned (easily 90% of the games i've played) so that's kinda a given that i'm mature :). I know PHP, HTML (duh) CSS, and miniscule MySQL. I'm workin on C++ as we speak. So i'm constantly 'upgrading' my knowledge.
If ya'll don't select me, I still uphold your choices of the other members you selected.
Holla at me if ya'll decide to choose a newb for OPU team.. lol

If your on the dev team you do not get a OPU| tag.(i wanted one too....owell).
and being a n00b dosen't mean much. I'm a realitve n00b to most of the people here. (1 month registered, 1+ years lurking)

You can still help out lots with-out being OPU|, and that would be great, more help the better.

That's also one of the reasons people get to be part of the team. Rather than just asking for it, we usually award it to people who are helpful in both IRC and the forums and are worthy of said awards.
So if you want to be a member, be online often and help out, and we might consider you!

Admin or not, I'm still gonna be as helpful as possible. It'd just mean I'd have that lovely little @ thingy... As if the white coloring of the player's name isn't enough.

Same for me: i dont even want to be host in #outpost.. it kinda also means u have to pay attention to everything that happens in the room. And as many know - im always there, just not 'alive' most of the time!
As for helping out: if it's programming-related, i can always help out -provided i have the time for it-

Frezza has wanted to help out, tho may not made it clear to all. Hes allways active, which means he should be a good irc op. Like Joe, hes got the time and wiling to put into OPU.

I may not know programing but i can be usefull in other areas i think. Programming isnt every thing that opu needs.

bah, programs like Hamachi may wind up crashing my comp. I don't care to explain why i hate the ham, so don't ask, but i hate it with a passion.

Just thinking... I've been here pretty longer then the rest of the members of the team.... And not being present isn't an excuse Lol.. Mez and Hacker are hardly around. Not to say that at least 75% of th team dosen't even play OP2 often....

I think you are quite mistaken.
I'm here EVERY SINGLE DAY except on weekends. I'm here as much as I possibly can.
I'm one of the most active people in this community.
Mez pops in as often as he can too.
Perhaps you aren't on at the same time as me due to time zone differences?

Im sorry if i am not around much at the moment but i have exams on, so im on the computer about twice a week for up to 3 hours. After bext week my exams will be finished so i should be on the computer more. especially since i now have some free trials of various program to play around with
Also i live in a different time zone to you.
I do play games!
I have ONE computer between my entire family. which due to the way i have set the computer is running 2 windows installations one for my parents and brother, and one for me.
So the computer can not remain on all the time even if im not there as my parents or brother may want to use it.
Anyone complaining about not seeing Molson? He won the right to be a GM but i havent seen him at all! I dont think im on enough to be one my self at the moment (an we prolly have enough anyway until lev goes to Uni).
However i shall be on more now that i have a sundomain to play around with ad various sites to construct as well as the free beta and trial software of microsoft among others.
Yes Xam i realise that you are annoyed that you arnt on the team and seem to be arounf more than hacker an me.
But hacker does s*** loads of work. Like all the forum. website and bot work among the map editor op2sock. And i think hacker does some of this work while he is offline as if hes nythin like me her will get distracted by mirc etc whilst progin.

I would offer to help but as you can tell I'm quite new, and although I already think this is a great community of people, it is more fitting for me to be useful in small ways rather than soliciting a position I haven't earned.
