Title: Publishing Novellas?
Post by: gpgarrettboast on February 03, 2005, 10:28:22 AM
Would anyone be interested in purchasing printed and bound copies of the novellas?  If so, we just might do it!  (The writers would get royalties of course...)

I don't think we have permission to do that

but that would be kind of nice

i have a ring binder maker thing..
u put the pages together with a plasic front and back then it melts and glues the plasic 2 gether, makes a great finish.
i could do this for any one in europe who wanted one.

end of the day if people want it they can just print it themselves...

I'd probably buy it, but make it good and not too expensive. I won't support it, if ppl just want to make money.

We're going to be using hand-made perfect binding.  The paper, ink, glue, and labor (and editing) will be included in the price.  (Shipping will be added, but it should be decently cheap)

I can devote my time to what I want. :D heh...  Plus, I'm waiting for more 3d models to come in (which won't be until next week because our model editor has final exams)

focus on the game play engine. use fake models for test purposes (eg. Use a cube for a convec or whatever until you get the "real convec".)

Uh, and yeah, you'd be breaking laws by selling copies of the novella from OP2. People's "fan novellas", now you'd have to ask them.

I do agree with Lev here.

Well, I have my other hobbies too. Like drawing and writing.  Whe I write, I wanna publish my books, so I need practice.  and we wouldn't publish the sierra novellas. lol.

Yeah, the reason why OP2 Novellas cannot be published (Printed and sold published) is because its based on something thats not yours, OP2 that is.

I think you can only really publish something if you personally own all the intellectual property within your book, 100 percent.

Well do you?

Don't you just have to have a bibliography at the back of the book to say where any sources of information cam from if they weren't your own.

In our case the bibliography would  include:

Story based on the PC-CDROM Game Outpost 2 (released 1997)

All content within this book is the authors, except for names of buildings and vechiles which are property of seria.

This story is completly fictionalised and in no way linked to seria or any of the game's producers in any way what so ever.

This is basically a disclaimer, exonerating seria from any problem which could arise.
