Forgive my ignorance, but would 3 different civs be ideal?  Have a little spice from the two original colonies + something new

I would go for the Plymouth/Eden colony combo if the New Haven colony had the strengths of both Eden and Plymouth. I think that would make it balanced.

Yeah, if New Haven had a combination of both...better to have Eden/Plymouth

Put simply, for the single player campaign. Would you prefer an: 'Eden and Plymouth campaign' or a 'New Haven and Plymouth campaign'?

I won't do three as that would require 3 tech trees, three campaigns, 3 stories, 3 unit and vehicle types....etc.

As for a simple overview of each colony's strengths:
Plymouth, same as op2. Better at civil and use projectiles and explosives.
New Haven/Eden, same as op2. Better at tech/research and use energy weps.

I was going to have some new morale structures for eden anyway to balance the game against plymouth. (it's not fair if plymouth can raise their morale much faster and grow quicker than eden in multi).

Because of what happens at the end of op2, where the remaining colonies join to escape new terra and go after plymouth. They join together so I feel New Haven makes more sense. But many people might like the classic name of Eden.

But the bottom line is it's just the name:
Eden or New Haven?

yeh, thats kinda the choice you already have been given

well, besides their names, what is the actual differences between new haven and eden colonies?

also, bear in mind knux that you already have a lot of the op3 eden sprites and animations already done for you (from op2). do you really wanna have to make up an entire new structure concept etc for a new colony?

well, if its a mix of plym and eden, than it cant be called jsut eden can it?

I say the colonists probly made a compromise and called themselves New Haven

that means im in favor of NewHaven

If they would call themselves Eden, then there only would be 2 sides. And that is NOT GOOD.
