Am I the only one who thinks that saving the game in the middle of a mission is a good idea? Or why has nobody reported this yet? Saving the game in the middle of a mission and then loading it will break the game. Sometimes it will not even load, sometimes it will load, but all trigger related events (it seems) don't happen.
Examples:
- in mission 1 the ai didn't attack me anymore (it did before I loaded the state)
- also in mission 1 the objectives showed up incomplete after loading a state
- in mission 2 loading failed completely (but I experienced this in mission 1 as well)
- in mission 3 Plymouth did not defend/rebuild its base in the west and the lava did not spread to higher terrain
So, is it really just me?

Eddy may not have written the saving/loading correctly. I could check out the disassembly later to verify that.

If that is your preferred method... I'd expect that just playing the game and trying it would be easier. Or even better: Eddy gave the source to some people. Lets just look at that.

Eddy gave the source to some people.
Who are these some people? I could learn a lot from Eddy's really good AI.

Probably, probably not. Judging from what Eddy said about it, its quite a mess and chances are good that you will be better off making your own thing.

I know, saving is buggy:
The problem is Outpost itself: it has a peculiar way to save a mission, as any and all "user" defined variables must be in a single memoryblock.
I've solved this by encapsulating them all into 1 class and saving that class.. i may have a little bug in there.
The main bug is the mission 3 -> 4 transition which goes horribly wrong and i never got around to fixing it...
i even forgot what the exact nature of the bug is, all i remember is that it goes wrong.. lol
If ever i got a LOT of time on my hand, i may look into it again .. i should at least save my folder as it is located on an old win98 machine that a really use anymore..
Let me know, guys: ARE YOU FOLKS STILL PLAYING RENEGADES ??
-
Eddy-B I can assure you, I'm still playing..
on normal because I can't get passed level 2 :(
I beat it on easy though!!!... but thats HORRIBLY insignificant
Do attempt to fix the bug. More missions would be nice to!!
Is it safe to say that this is the closest thing to an Op3 so far?
