too many mice and keyboards!
get a KVM switche setup: 1 part hardware, 1 part software. Hook up a single keyboard and mice to all desktops, keeping the monitors seperate, and use the software one s you can seemlessly transition the mouse and keyboard between the desktops.
Here's something someone else wrote if I'm too vague:
edit: wrong article, will insert the correct one when I find it again

And why isn't there any lighting (natural or otherwise) in that room?

When I had two machines on my desk, I would use a software KVM called synergy, now I just have one machine with 3 monitors connected to it.

Hey hacker, how well did it transition the mouse? A lot of what I read said it sometimes hangs up for a few seconds.

It seemed to work fine for me, it was pretty much instant from what I remember. I do recall having to tweak the advanced settings in the program to change the way it captures and releases mouse input. (can't totally remember why, I think there was some weird flicker or something like that)
The only other consideration, is if you're going to play a fullscreen game with it activated, you have to press scroll lock to lock the cursor onto the screen the game is on (otherwise the game will randomly lose input focus when the cursor gets switched "off screen").
