Title: Friday Bash
Post by: Spikerocks101 on January 16, 2010, 10:39:22 PM
Every Friday go on the IRC for some battles. You can use either Hamachi (http://www.outpostuniverse.net/hamachi.php) or Netfix (http://www.outpostuniverse.net/netfix.php). I will just post some general rules (and obviously, no new person tactics like scout rushes):

Morale Steady
No Disasters
Day and Night

Free For All: - Updated for Piechart rules
Type: Last One Standing
Attack Mark: 0
EMP Missiles Allowed
Ally with your murderer and destroy all you vehicles so you may watch the remaining part of the game.

Team Game:
Type: Land Rush
Build Mark: 80
Attack Mark: 600
No EMP Missile Spam (1 per Plymouth player)

For Hamachi users, here is a network:
Name: Outpost2.net
Password: opu

Even if it's not Friday, go on the IRC and see if you can get a game going. I will always be on! Have fun :P

Why play with morale unsteady Hidiot ? To the skilled level that just makes the game alot easier. And everyone know that Eden rules no morale games because of Consumer factory. Simply pump out the wares and morale is a steady 99%.

So basicly, your playing with more on steady 99 instead of 75. It just takes more effort to maintain it..

It's not so easy to produce consumer goods in parallel with army management and rest-of-colony management, while Plymouth gets higher morale.

Also, morale influences production speed.

And that's just for the fight games. We've also got other maps, mostly courtesy of Sirbomber & Co., which are not all about combat. Playing those with steady morale is just... not for me.

I'm sure there will be scope for the more advanced players to have some fun. With the old rules.
i.e. no am, bm 50 & no limits on real tactics?

Well, it might not be a bad idea to give the newer people a general idea of some of the common rules.

Week 3 of Friday Bash. I have been playing several regulars on the IRC on Piechart, and I think we will have some epic battles if you all show up. I also think I should make a interactive Tech-Tree to help people understand what each techs gives, i.e. a newbie guide.

If it was added to the game maps, maybe I'll get on and challenge some people to the map merge...

then again, I need to edit the .dll so the "AI" is harder...meh

Piechart plymouth ffa is pretty much my favorite thing now. I have been going against Op2rules, Exodus, Stillhere, Blackgage, LoP, Fallenagnel and more, with in 1 week. I think I will beat you Sirbomber this time. And I was going to put a post about a tournament. Guess I will do it now.

Each with their own choices, I guess.

Now, if you add a little AM, even pie chart can get a wee bit interesting.

Longer games are nicer. Then again, I'm not daring enough to leave my base lightly defended. That usually means I lose.

Tournaments? NO. Or at least not for me. What I want to avoid is what goes beyond friendly competition. Plus, those people who get higher ranks than they deserve, thanks to luck, their adversary/ies not being in the mood, etc. who will then proceed to think they're really great (that is besides the point that being great in a game still means nothing :P )

Hey all,

I'm back and playing now. I've come back and found some new and old players and have had quite the time.

Things change but OP2 never does. It's a nice rock in your life to have that you can always come back to and know you enjoy.

Anyways, I'm on IRC and kicking it with the peoples and am having fun!

Good stuff Xam!

Fridays is the only time I can play these days. Focusing on other things than gaming..

So, hope to see people there!

There are periods of the year when people have more time on their hands. This is probably not one of them.
