Hey im new been playing Outpost 2 idk if anyone will read this due to the date cuz its been a long time since Outpost 2 was released but yea might as well try.
Was jsut wodnering if there was much in the way of some fun Multiplayer games or colony game downloads because i miss playing Outpost 2.
-
Oh, there are still people around, or else the site would be down.
Check the main page for the OP2 download and other stuff (you'll need it to play multi player, as even one difference between versions can cause crashes or incompatibilities when attempting to create a game) and an IRC client to help setup games.

I think this community has been to-gether for too long and gone through too many tough times to fall apart now heheh
-
awesome well its good to meet ya, so i take it the download version of OP2 is the best one to use?
Been playing off the CD still and somehow it works on Vista? amazing huh?
Now the question comes of how cna i get the IRC working?
-
Someone setup a page here: http://www.outpostuniverse.net/irc.php (http://www.outpostuniverse.net/irc.php)

awesome ill try and get on asap um now my only question is are there any SP cheats on your version of the game?
I love the new games on your version but i miss the population cheat a bit lol.
-
Heh, no, it was disabled ages ago since it caused a lot of grief with multiplayer games. If you want to play with the cheats, use an older install just for single player.
-
gotcha is there a way to transfer the additional colony missions and the screen size from the downloaded OP2 to the original that requires a disk??
-
I think the differences are mostly in the exe file. If you just copied everything else over most things would probably work. There's a few exe extensions that you'd lose by using an old copy, but the levels should still work. (The old exe will have no /loadmod for instance).
-
I thought I remember somebody saying that any missions we created wouldn't work with a CD version of OP2? I'm probably wrong, though...
Anyways, hello there.
-
I think they should still work. You might want to patch your game with the 3 official scenario packs though before you try to copy the extra missions (and some of them do use "unofficial" memory hacks and what not to do "extra" things in the game... which certainly will not work / cause crashes on the stock CD version of the game exe).

See you on IRC for multilayer :)
-
awesome well im liek on at night but no ones on and the peopel that are tell me to play agaisnt myself lol but i guess their coders or something idk. Had a few good matchs but died all 3 times ugh i feel like im a loser at this haha.

You should tell us of the hours you're on then... include timezone, as it's important.
Some of us just join IRC later, knowing there ain't anyone around at certain hours anyhow.
And if they're people you may find talking in the coding channel on IRC about game functions and related stuff, they're almost certainly not interested in playing.

anytime between 12 pm to 3 am Eastern Time Zone
Depends if im off work or college.

That should be around 5 PM to 8 AM UCT.
Well, then... you should find at least some people usually from around 1 PM EST on IRC.
