Post by: BlackBox on October 06, 2007, 08:07:47 PM: The reason we are using a new design, is because the old one currently doesn't work. (For some reason, after the server switch the old website stopped showing the contents of each page. It probably has to do with a new version of PHP and so on).

Galactic mentioned he could create a new design, so he started doing that and put it up on the website. If you do have any suggestions on how it can be improved, let us know.

edit -- was a bit unclear that the new design is the one we are currently using on the website. Thanks Arklon

Okay...i think i can live with it when its done. Thanks for the info, clears up a bit. Now its waiting for the new skin

-edit Talking about the new layout, the link to the wiki on the main page is incorrect, and the website editor isn't working so I can't fix it. :/

I think the previous design we had (the black one) and now this one are steps down from the one we had when we launched this domain (pic below)

Yes I understand we need the site's content to be easy to manage and it should be ran by some CMS so many users can add/edit and I agree with this. But I am intrested to see what people think.

So you're saying you liked the old design better because you made it...?
In my opinion, that theme was bad because it had absolutely nothing to do with OP2.

At least the new one has a planet that looks like New Terra on it... that one had EARTH on it. Twice. Which makes me think that you didn't actually make that design.

OP2 isn't on Earth. Nor is it on an Earth-like planet. And it doesn't have landforms that look like Earth's continents.

That's almost like saying the "DIE! BUT HAVE A NICE DAY" map is part of New Terra. Or the map used in Bore Hole with Satan's head in the middle of it.

yeah well putting mars on the cover doesnt work well either, because that huge scar across the surface clearly indicates that its mars :P

i liked the old layout, but if it must change, perhaps there is a talented artist here that could come up with an idea of how New Terra looks on a whole (piecing together each map maybe?) and that would be put on the front

regardless both lay-outs seem fine to me :)

No need for graphics artists.
There are plenty of pictures of New Terra in the game. Just play the campaigns, read the briefings, and watch the movies.

Has anyone explored the site recently? There are a lot of broken links, and the OP1 download is corrupted. It would be a good idea to fix these if/when there is a graphical update.

The theme had pretty much nothing to do with outpost. In fact I believe the skin was a modified premade template made by someone else.
