I tested this theroy out about Nurseries if u have more than one it prevents children ffrom dieing hence more workers but u also need med centers to keep workers alive
-
1 nursery will be enough if you keep a good ratio on your med centers and morale at excellent.
And there are cases where you will want to have less people

Having multiple nursuries decreases the death rate of children.
Hooman made a post about this earlier. The effect is rather small though, so I don't think the multiple nursuries was worth it.

i as a standard, build 4 nurseries and 2 universities; this always works for me and produces a lot of babies and workers
ironically, i think this game has 2 key elements to succes: make a lot babies and research a lot of tech

No it doesn't. The Nursery and University structures merely enable a flag telling the game to start producing children and workers, respectively. In fact, I've been able to trick the game into producing new children and workers without having an active Nursery or University. You should have all those workers and scientists running those useless Nurseries and Universities run Med Centers, as they reduce the death rate for all colonists (not just children).

Ok, I went and found the relevant Hooman-origionated posts... These posts are how OP2 calculates Morale and how it handles population.

Lol. Yes, nice to know people have read my posts. :)
In short, you only need 1 nursery. Having more doesn't increase the birth rate. More will serve like a medical center (for kids only), but it is only as effective as a single unupgraded medical center would be, which takes an equal number of workers and scientists.
You get more out of building a new medical center (since it helps prevent deaths in all 3 population components) than you do out of a second nursery. There is no point to building a second nursery.
