I play Outpost 2 alot, I´ve registered here today but actually i have been downloading things from here since last year, and i was thinking if there is a way to play againt the AI the multiplayer maps, like editing something and made a multi map in a colony map....
there is a way to do it?
-
No. However, if you've known of our site for over a year, you should have registered and just learned to play multiplayer with us.
-
Lol, Bomber is always a little blunt.
I suppose an existing multiplayer AI map could be edited to become a colony game. It might be a simple hex editing job, or maybe it's more involved. Only way to find out is to try I guess.
-
I have to agree. You should of been registered and geting involved :)
We are all happy to help you out, just post ya questions. Hope to see ya on IRC and you should get into multiplayer, its great!
Welcome.

Err, I didn't get to trying that out today. Might be a good idea to remind me to look into that. I can be a bit forgetful.

Come to IRC and game with us ... NOW

NOOOO IT"S A TRAP!!!!
lol, jk
The only way to do it currently is to assign the map an existing .dll file, but that just isn't the way to go. If the "AI" wasn't made for the map, 9/10 it won't work

I wanted to make a single player multiplayer tutorial so you could easily load it and pratice. In fact I did make it but it had single player research speed I think so it got removed.
-
That's easy to fix. Set the level type in the DescBlock to Colony when you make the level, so it appears in the colony game list, but in InitProc change the level type to one of the multiplayer settings. Then when it does the checks for research speed, it'll think it's multiplayer and triple the rate.
You also get the multiplayer style quitting if you end the game early.
-
so multiplayer research is faster!? I never noticed that

I finally got around to doing it. The post is here (http://forum.outpostuniverse.net/index.php?showtopic=3993&view=findpost&p=61567).
