Title: Ground Effect Vehicle?
Post by: ARES on June 01, 2007, 08:02:44 PM
I was looking through the posts, and thought it might be a good idea to post this new movement system.

Use the wing in ground effect to make a fast moving, super-low-flying (as if it went up higher, it would have no more lift, so it must stay low) unit (might be a scout? or an attack vehicle? or a builder?)

Just throwin that out there ;P

In WWII the had personel vehicles that hovered using large fans, the person steered it by shifting his body weight.

Well, actually, I wasn't talking about a hovercraft, I was talking about a WIG craft. Look it up on wiki :)

Akkk.

I tried to suggest a helicopter like vehicle that floats about 10 ft off the ground so it would basically hover but they didn't bite.

Thin atmosphere+any flying machine=FAILURE!
It would require to much energy...
Unless the planet had incredibly low gravity?
