Title: Hmm Ads On Opu

Well I was just logging in and such since I reinstalled windows and all. But, has anybody noticed that there are google ads at the bottom of the OPU forums login page?

*edit* nvm lol I just noticed it only shows up on some of the skins and not the one I normally use.

Yeah, we put google ads on some skins to try to recoup some of the money that it costs to rent the server.

If you want to give money click on them once in a while. It's not much but it will be used to help pay for the server.

We should implement a button somewhere that says donate and links to a paypal account (preferably mine). :P

I kind of doubt people would donate to a pay pal account. People seem much more likely to click links and donate someone else's money. ;)

How long have the ads been there? That's not really something I expected.

I would never EVER! click on a google ad, just seeing them on a website makes me suspicious.

So how much $$$ to keep the New Terra skin ad free?

Once we considered getting a paid host and splitting the charge between the members, there were several people willing to donate then, maybe someone is still willing to help pay for OPU.

I put the ads at the bottom to help server costs. We can talk about doing something else if someone has a different idea.

I think OPU should have a paypal donate email.

The community should pay for the domains and any extra money can go to hosting costs?

Well its up the community - Money could be given to members who do a lot of work but realy I think any extra money should just be held in a pot for domain and hosting costs.

Btw if you dont know. Galactic does our hosting and for free :)
