I was thinking about the trade center and thought of how sometimes a Plymouth and Eden ally could trade, and make use of the other colony's technology that one wouldn't normally have. Then I considered effective uses of weapon combinations within a colony, such as EMP/ESG groups, etc (I know this is a bad example as the EMP is available to both colonies). Has anyone thought of effective weapon groups using vecs from different colonies combined? :op2:

you can already trade vecs, so if you want an army of acid rpg, you can just ask for the other weapon

I prefer the Eden weapons in any case, as they are stronger than Plymouth's.
However, a supernova every now and then would have been nice when your Eden :P

Yeah Supernova Lynxes = very nice against single Guard Posts :)

You know... ask Sl0vi about Supernovas and Starports. Maybe some memories come out :)

it probaly would be a cool thing to have, but it has some drawbacks, like makers of op2 gave the two colonys difernt weapons for a reason. plus it looks cooler to have micro-lazer battles.
ps, answering the origanal question: Thor-ESG, Micro- lazer, RPG- Rail-gun
although never tested :'(

There was a certain DLL for a map that had Eden vecs with Plymouth turrets. How ever They were AI tanks. I am not sure it is possilbe for a human player to build them.
-
Yes they can...
I made it happen by accident once :D And you can make an edited tech tree where you set techs that are one-side only to both sides, by adding a positive number to those techs that have -1 to one of the sides cost.

Yeah, the chassis will appear to be whatever colony the player is (that produced them). The weapon will appear to be whatever the available graphics for that weapon are. They didn't exactly make two versions of most weapons, since only one colony normally gets them.
