Title: Would You Want To Be In An OPU Movie?
Post by: Sirbomber on May 31, 2006, 04:33:04 PM: Well? If we made an OPU movie (not with real actors of course) would you want to be in it/represented in it? (As in you wouldn't necessarily look like yourself/be human/etc)

Post by: dm-horus on June 14, 2006, 05:47:18 AM: Making an OPU movie wouldnt be that hard, actually. It would be alot like the collage idea I had.

First we would all have to agree on a format. What kind of movie would it be? A documentary? A docudrama? A Mockumentary? Something else?

Then we would have to get DEFINATE answers on who would want to be involved and what we want to show in the movie. Get them all lined up and prepared so nothing is left out when the time comes.

Then we could do one of two things: Someone take a video camera they dont particularly care about and ship it to an OPU member who ships it to another, and so-on until the list is filled or each member who is able sends in video shot with their own equipment.

I personally like the first idea because it would keep the material consistent and allow much more people to contribute. And if somebody didnt pass the camera along, they could be permabanned from the community or something as collateral.

Id like to see a twofold film. A mockumentary that tells us about the people behind the community and how they are involved and then what they themselves are like and what they do. The viewer would get to know Outpost, OPU and us!

I like the idea...but I think everyone has access to a camera, so we should all just use our own (webcam counts, just set it up to record instead of broadcast)

This sounds awesome actually - I'm big on free guns - but I want to be a Panda.

I think it'd end up being a Mockumentary of a typical day in the OPU channel; just with us portrayed as- well something else.. lol

Y'know? Like stormy could just be a big cloud that renders stuff all day and plays around with Bender ;).. I dunno how exactly we'd do everyone..

It could be done cartoonish in Flash, or 3D in Bender or 3DMax...

I could make stick figures of everyone in a beta stage..

I think a Video-camera-esque idea would definintely turn off many possible 'actors'; seeing as I, among many other people, hate to see themselves on film; and plus I'd have to carry a video camera around with me all day :D lol..

I'm just sayin'.

Short shots where each person says their name, their screen name and what they do for OPU and then just what they think about OPU and OP2. It would only last a couple minutes. The movie would alternate between clusters of people who only have short clips and those who do longer pieces. If some people dont want to be on camera long, 2 or 3 of their clips would be put side by side and then move on to a longer piece of someone else to break things up and keep viewers interested.

Id like to see it made similar to "This is Spinal Tap." Very good movie, so go rent it!!!! It looks serious but as time goes on you realize that these people are insane and the movie is really a comedy.

Following moogle around on camera for 15 minutes would really entertain viewers :P

But anyway, it wouldnt even have to be that. Just having some shots of some opu members more or less just saying "hi" would be cool enough, right?
