I don't use the runtime libraries.
Also i have NEVER seen any error like this before !
bass.dll (not written by me) DOES use the runtime - so please check if you have the correct version (it's included in the setup package). I cannot check version from my office, but i will do so when i get home, and post it here (bythe way: anyone who's installed bass.dll & renegades could tell you the versino number of the runtimes)

I have a bug with renagades, it allways hapends around mark 716-725, the game stopes and then shuts down, and it tells me it is looking for a .exe file
my coputer lingo is not up to scrach so I dont know much more then that
-
- I assume you're talking about mission 3, since that's the one with the most problems,
- what exe is it looking for ?
-
all it says it is looking for a execuabul ?? what ever that means
so far the game rocks, love the story line
and yes it is mission 3
-
Usually there's a name of a program, but if you can give me the exact error message, that might help. And what version of windows you are running ?
-
XP, and all it says is its trying to launch a outpost 2 execuabule ?? if that means anything
-
WOW, in mission 3 im halfway done researching Vulcanology, the last thing I have to do, and the game crashes, so error messeage just that default windows message "This program has encountered a critical error and needs to close". Game just froze up and then i got that. Dammit I just wasted an hour.

Should have saved more.

Yeah probly but I beat it again anyways.
Anyways I have more bugs.
In mission 3, Eden cargo trucks at the north mine randomly dump ore. They just go to the mine and they randomly dump it at some point on the way back. This doesn't always seem to occur though.
Another possible bug of concern is after I beat mission 3 and failed at mission 4, I was unable to load the saved game file from mission 3. I just got the message "unable to load SGAME2.REN . This also cause me to be unable to load other save files as well and it also crashed the game. I retarted the game and it was fine. I failed the mission again and tried to start the mission said it could not initialize and the same problem occured
I also scanned across mission tips and came across that the Plymouth Vehicle factory produces the evac transport. Once when I played mission 3, the plymouth CC got disabled from damage and the plymouth base never built up/functioned. This means that the evac transport could never get built and the mission is then unbeatable. (unless of course you killed their base so they rebuild again?)
Anyways just trying to help, its GREAT so far, good job Eddy.

I've only had 1 problem on mission 3, and that was my own fault...

On easy I can not beat mission 4. I even get 3 extra lynx do to a bug. And even if i restart, game could not initalize. (screams at tv) Y!!! I enjoyed the first three so much without bugs bugging me and now this!!! Help me eddy, blah
And whats this behind the moon? Aint there in op2 sorry i got bored. Wait i forgot how to upload pics! i hate being a noob at op2

We all have had bugs with renegades - i know this.
I guess after the alpha and beta tests,, this is a gamma-test or something.
At the moment i've taken a leave of absense concerning renegades, and i'll pick up the loose ends in a while. i am now working on some other projects. The best advise i can give you now (aside from frequent saving): DIE in mission 3 JUST before you get the victory message, because there's a serious problem from transferring data from mission 3 to mission 4. Normally this data is saved at the end of the mission, but this doesnt happen at the end of mission 3. Somehow, dieing does save the data correctly, so for example, after saving your mission3 near the end, kill off your evac transport (or put it in the garage, since that seems to result in failing as well). BTW: this only works if you have not yet transferred the colonists inside the evac.

Big thanks as always eddy, have a good vacation.
