Title: Ibstorebugs
Post by: Tellaris on February 09, 2006, 12:37:31 AM
Well, I just tried the glow effect item for the heck of it.   Seems to have done nothing.   Broke?   Also, Rob the Bank still isn't worth its cost.

Yeah, unfortunately only IE supports the glow effect at the time being.

Perhaps we could do something about that? If someone wants to show me the CSS to do it in Mozilla/FF/NS/Opera/etc send it to me. (No, the <div> trick of putting several div's on top of each other is not acceptable)

well, a CSS script for glow that works in browsers other than IE. So that way, I could include it so the names will glow in other browsers.

Obviously the forums already have the CSS for IE (it works in IE).

when I search "glow" in the script, I find that:

   <td valign='middle' class='row4' width="1%"><a name='entry45774'><div style='FILTER: Glow(Color=#3300FF, Strength=6); width:100%;'><span><a href='http://forum.outpostuniverse.net/index.php?showuser=302'>Baikon</span></div></td>

I hope that can help you

I was aiming for more "Blue" then that.   Too poor to fix it.
Additionally, robbing still needs fixing!

I think it's like that to keep a war from happening, lol

Yeah, it's be really bad if robbing was expected to be profitable. If it was, you can just buy another item and rob again. Kinda like when that casino item had expected wins. People suddenly ended up with like 120000 ore overnight. It really makes posting for ore seem pretty pointless.

Easy.   Make the surplus negligeable.   Only 15 ore back makes that thing totally useless!   Say it gives at least 100 back.   Thats a more reasonable amount.   Could even be it takes only 2% of a player's total.   This hurts the REALLY rich people more then other poor people.

It can give more than that!!! Why is it that everyone thinks it only gives back 15, based off of ONE person's trials with it.

Trust me, you can get back more, if you try. But don't be guaranteed that it will be successful. ;)

I've tried to get more.   It always seys "Error, you are trying to steal too much.   You can only steal 15"

Hmm, I wonder if there's a bug in that item. I have 15 set as the minimum amount you can try to steal. It might be treating it as the maximum.

I'll check it out later, when I have access to the code.

I still think the Rob the bank item seriously needs to be rethinked in terms of what it gives back.   You get more of a return on just reselling the damn thing.

Casino isn't calculating properly.
Today i thought.. heck i'm on the top richest people... why not play casino ?

So i bought 10 casino lottery tickets costing 200 ore each.
On 8 of the ten, i lost EXTRA money (negative numbers), and on 2 i made some money back, but less then the 200 ore invested. So in the end: ALL 10 tickets cost more then they earned me. This is a serious problem..

Also: the glow effect,,, as we know doesn't do much. Next to that, i've bought an item several months ago, and wasn't able to test if it worked already, coz i can't click "Use item" (but that seems to be fixed now).

we are low on items ;-(
what we need is something to spend our ore on... but i don't know what can be implemented, i think it's op2hacker's choice, since he's the one installing IBStore stuff i think
