Title: Forum Member Map
Post by: dm-horus on November 19, 2005, 12:16:04 AM
Go here (http://albinoblacksheep.com/map/). Dont you think something like this on the forums would be nifty? Then stormy can pick out who to have turk... err, a reunion with in real life! :P

But seriously, I think something like this would actually be kind of cool. Im sure people would use it and it would be nice to watch teh globe fill with pins as the community grows.

(Im also kind of curious where we all are atm)

I'm not sure I could use that if we don't name it what I said. TOo bad nobody remembers.
OPU Tactical Global User Positioning Orbital Coordinate Tracking System (TGUPOCTS) or something like that...

That's not it though, the acronym sucks and is half as long as the other one...

Well, OPUTool does indeed have a WorldMap section to it and I want to eventually release the WorldMap as a stand-alone program for those who do not want to OPUTool.

It was working perfectly... untill Punboy's server freaked up again. Well, ever since Tool's webspace has been down and I havn't heard anything about it ever coming up so it looks like WorldMap's pin list will need to be recreated...  (thumbsdown) Oh well.

I thought the OPtool was the best program I have used of its kind.

don't worry Leeor, Just when its fixed let us know how to put our pins up again and we will do it.

Yeah, user editable design would be nice. Not just for the users, but for you too. It's gotta be a pain to have to collect info and enter it in yourself. There really needs to be a way for users to enter their own info. And to remove it if they so choose.

I've tried IE first -- that when i got the black frame.
Then i tried Mozilla/FireFox -- same thing, but with a msg that it doesn't work. In IE i don't even get that message!

Anyway: we don't need any fancy member-viewing tool. Who's online is online, who isn't isn't.. we talk to each other on IRC, forum, and e-mail. We play online.. i doubt people will ever meet in real life anywayz.
