I was on IBStore and noticed that increace interest had no icon. So I made one. I cant tell if it meshes with the others because I cant insert it. I prolly wasted my time, but whatever. It killed 15 minutes :P
-
I have another one, this time with a clock. Killed another 15! Woo!
-
make the background grey and it will fit perfactly with the rest
-
Actually, make the background transparent.
Once that is done, I'll add it to the store!
Very good work! :)

yea, thats what I ment, forgot about the skins lol
-
gj thx
-
lol you serious? i did this while trying to keep my head propped up from lack of sleep. i make icons like this all the time but assume theyre crap and delete. huh. ill post it in a transparent gif shortly.
-
Nice work, what program are you using?
EDIT: also, how do you make an img transparent?
-
lol. MS Paint.
Cant you tell? To make the transparency I colored the entire background pink (since pink is used nowhere else in the icon) and when I converted it to a gif, I set pink as the transparency color. Everything pink was made transparent and there you have it.
I have a habit of once finishing a project and leaving it alone for a while, coming back and redoing it. It becomes a neverending cycle of redoing work Ive already done. I think this icon looks like crap now but at the time I was somewhat proud of it. You should check out my thread on OPU User Icons. Unfortunately I lost all my files in my recent system nose dive and will be starting over.
Cheers

Oh ok, but how do you set transparency to pink? make the background pink?
-
when i save the file it asks me to select transparency. i select the same color i made the background (or whatever color i want transparent), in this case pink. the tough part is making sure the edges fade into the most common color the icon would be found on. having the edges fade to black or red or green wouldnt look good if the icon were placed on a white background. this is "manual anti-aliasing." luckily opu is mostly gray or off-white, so fading to gray works pretty well. i tend to do this too much though. the other ibstore icons are going for retro by looking pixelated, blocky and isometric. i consider the above icon a failure because it doesnt match with the rest of the icons since it isnt isometric, isnt pixelated (as much), doesnt maintain color palette and uses too many gradients.
its hard making stuff look crappy :P

Oh alright, so when do we add it?
