Title: Irc At School?
Post by: bouzip on September 05, 2005, 01:49:11 AM
is there any way to use irc at school?

if there is, could you give me some links to tutorials, or give me proxy?

thank you, irc <3

the irc port will usealy be blocked, and most school systems dont have java and flash etc.

we have a java irc client on the site.

actually, every computer ive came accross has had java and flash, due to most educational websites like to use it liberaly =.=; .

you could try using one of the alternate ports, but theres a fat chance thats gonna work. usually school suse a sort of proxy to filter material, and to block ports.

lmao  school are really dumb too sometimes  first you dont give acces to the regedit and the command.com witch i can at my school and if you were smart you would use ethereal right before a teacher or some1 who got authoritie to catch is accout/password then u are really clear to do what you want :)

you could try using a CGI:IRC, its server based.

Go on google and search for "CGI:IRC login" (w/ quotes) and you might find something. The operative thing is, it needs to let you use quakenet, and pick your own chans to join.

ive never found a queernet cgiirc. the only one i know of is mine, and people are only allowed access to it for special reasons.

I have IRC at school before a long while ago but it worked.  I guess you just have to hope that the systems Admin is a dumbass and didnt block ports.  You could always try a remote desktop to your comp but that would be a little slow.  Oh yes ZZJ stop calling it Queernet because if its a queer why are you on it.

I'm using IRC from university right now... Bouzip shouldn't they allow you to do it?

There are CGI IRC's that work, I used them from high school a couple times before.
Slow but they work.

Here you have to 'register' the network adapter MAC address before you can do anything online. Check to be sure you don't have to do any such procedures.

And yeah, let's avoid calling it queernet.

Hmm and no one is saying anything about using irc to play op2. There is supposed to be school policy about that lol. oh well... like lordly said, they just might be dumb

My univ doesn't have any policies against IRC usage or gaming so long as you don't break copyrights or create denial of service or other problems for other users.

b/c i have no choice freeza, that is obvious. and if u have a firewall dealie, usually they just block all the ports. sometimes they go so far as to scan for wt kind of data it is; and only allow http. a http mite work tho...

last year at end of year exam i have been caught by the computer teacher (not the manager of the network because he is kind with me and give me some advice on how to take advantage of the network ... enyway) and he basicly said that each dll could be a virus LMAO each dll is usually a map. i had to uninstall it but How(edit its not how its oh) gosh it was so funny  :P

Lol.. well so can all the other EXE's and DLL's that get installed...

Sure it *can* be a virus (yes, you could put a virus in an OP2 DLL... If I find anyone doing that they'll be permanently banned though...)

So he complains about the DLLs but not Outpost2.exe.... I fail to see the proper thinking in that... <_<

I cant access IRC from school, its behind a proxy server then a firewall, which i think is then tunneled to another proxy server which of course will have a firewall in front of it.

So in total i have 4 problems accessing IRC. 2 firewalls and 2 proxy server.  then i ahve the problem of java apps being disabled, so there goes the web irc

to open command without a run option in the start menu:

Create a new text document (right click -> new -> text document (not a MS word doc))
type:

start command

Do a "Save As" add .bat to the end of the file name and change file type to "All files"

Click save.

Double click the new .bat file you created and hey presto you have the MS command line.

You could also put "explorer c:" instead to open up the local drive in explorer view 9note that the \ has been dropped)

I use this method to access the C:\ drive and MS-Dos at school as they have both been hiden by the sys admins.

You can still use command.com on NT/2K/XP systems and access the command prompt just fine.

(Well, it runs slightly slower, since it is the DOS emulation layer, not the true command prompt running)

My highschool uses the windows policies to disable cmd.exe. if you try to run it, it gives a message saying that "Command Prompt is disabled by the administrator"

Well, just create a batch file, run command.com and you can do most things you could do from cmd. (Well, it doesn't support the extra features the NT command processor allows, like pushd, popd, alias, etc but you don't really need those).

You'd have to run SSH on your home computer, install a chatclient like irssi or b****X, and login to the home PC and use the chat client you installed thru SSH.

It may be best to just use a program like RealVNC to remotely control the computer.

Lol, If I have any interaction with the outside world at my school i will get my COMPUTER privaleges taken away   !!!

So, we can't:
Use any form of Webmail
Post messages anywhere
Download anything
Install anything (lol I have installed many things, including a game I made in RPGMaker for a school projecct ;))
play any games on teh computer
Look at porno (why would I do that anyway? lol)
Bypass any security measures.

Omg, They have all games and everything blocked by this annoying blocker thing. I can't even use GOOGLe for pete's sake!!!

Lol, but In media art I accessed my FTP and downloaded a render of mine for an art project in Photoshop ;).
Mine was one of the best in my honest oppinion.

Stormy w00t!  :op2:

Stormy....i feel sorry for ya man. [and i thought MINE was bad]

Porn tho, ive seen ppls look at that before. [ i was a aide for a bct teacher, so um yeah. i ended up finding out who they were  :heh: needless to say, they were dead or damn close to it] we cant even do ftp here, but i have ways around that  :D . [<3 PHP]

You could try httptunnel, but that may not work, depending on the firewall.

well the hardest part was not gain control of the computer.. it was to find a access without using mine.. because it would have been too easy so i just seeked one and initially look at his password after i did my action on his account and didn't even do him problem... sigh they allowed me to install ehereal... this is their problem ... so now i can have access to teacher stuff :P

Oh damn it just buy a laptop with some wireless on it and hope they got a unencrypted AP around.  Or just pay attention in school instead of talking to us in the middle of class so you dont piss off your parents with bad grades and lose the computer.
Title: Irc At School?
Post by: Leviathan on October 13, 2005, 06:42:11 AM
there is wireless connection all around my univ, it owns.. well i cant wait to get using it.
Title: Irc At School?
Post by: BlackBox on October 13, 2005, 02:07:26 PM
Yeah, my univ has wireless all over, its the same network thats in the dorms, so its fully unrestricted. each PC gets its own IP like it should. no NAT or any crap like that.

stormy: wouldn't the act of just accessing ANY website be a connection with the outside world?

What I use to get around the highschool / public school is use a CGI proxy. It works well enough.

Rather just go online at univ though. It's a lot faster.

Post by: Mez on October 13, 2005, 04:28:06 PM
ye my schol is fully wirelessed, minus the problems that the techs are having with it. i aint got no laptop, and id have to tunnel through 2 yes 2 restrictive proxys to do anything
and thats hard as ports are blocked, names like forum and proxy are blocked, other site have been black listed, so basically 2 do anything, i need 1 admin access to instal port tunneling software, 2 to get suffient ports etc through both proxies.  this is nigh on impossible and i cant hack.

firstly i had access to the wireless. the only bug was i didnt had access to the main frame computer... sigh.. after i didn't have bad grade (96) in computer class but... hell this class is a pain.. every project for the whole group is the same... all you gotta do is copy paste and then do ''modification'' that sound like <text> copy your text that you want to show there </text> (i dont know if the html code are blocked or not)

Hacker, I meant any communication with the outside world.

OmG! they have passwords to get to the login where you put your password to get into your user in teh freaking LIBRARY!!!!

Stupid librarian. She lost my textbooks 2 times making me have to freaking pay $50 each time. She "lost" other people's ones also.... so I went down there looking through the freaking stacks of 200 textbooks and to my surprise.... I didn't find it. Then I didn't have to pay the bill because I got my schedule for 8th Grade. (they wont let you have your schedule unless you have your books turned in or the fines paid).

Stupid library!

Stormy :op2:

:( my town's library is small... if only we had shared the town next to us; theirs is like 20,000 books big. Ours is like 5,000. They have compy games and maybe even a C++ compiler. We don't even HAVE rental games.  :'(

Wow dude, envy their compiler alright. That's waaay cooler than a book- which is KINDA the point of a library. lol j/p.

IRC is cool- but I need a school idea too. They block Java stuff, Flash isn't installed (they've got us on mofo'in lockdown at my school.) Anyone coming up with an idea is tha MAN in my eyes (or woMAN, depending upon what you like to be called).
