Well, my first game was miserable.
I focused on morale to strongly and when the attack wave became stronger so, next time around I focused on defense and hosed the second wave of their scout vehicles. That was fun.
But seems the mobile weapons platform isn't available as research and if not, can't upgrade to stronger weaps.
So am I really supposed to ride out the stong until the lava seperates me from the parent colony? And if so, I still need to deal with the smaller colony to the north.
So am I on the right track?
Is there a strategy guid for the mission? Will search for it.
How about a tech tree? Will search for that too...

Eden tech tree here: outpostuniverse.net/eden_tech_all.php (http://www.outpostuniverse.net/eden_tech_all.php)
Hopefuly some people who have played the colony game a few times can help you out.

Appreciate the link!
Why the color distinction (red/blue) for the techs? Assuming lab type?
And I never see the basic lab in the colonly games...
-
Yeah, black is basic lab, red is standard lab, and blue is advanced lab.
The basic lab is only in the campaigns, yes, not in the colony games. You can only do 5 researches at it anyway (it's not really much of anything).

well cpu is smoking me again.
just when I thought i had a chance, they launched an EMP missle @ me and now my vehicles are hosed.
In addition, they're coming @ me with lights off too.
The bottom line is that they start off incredible strong and just get stronger.
So, has anyone here beat EDEN COLONY ON MEDIUM without cheating?
-
Which Eden colony game is it ?
-
As per the subtitle of this thread,
EDEN COLONYSHIP MEDIUM
Thanks!
-
I've only yet seen emp-missiles in Eden Colony Starship, thus I guess its that.
I beat this even at hard and its probably the easiest of all colony games. Just kill all enemy bases early in the game and you won't be disturbed.

This scenario has been debated before, but from what I can see, someone has taken the trouble deleting the topics.
I'll see if I can get around with some guides on how to defeat the computers ;)
-
You can't defeat the bases early in the game because they start out with a massive advantage of tech, resources, and vehicles.
It was my intention to pursue that course of action and just when I was set to advance that cause, BAM! The EMP hits my base.
While in the game, I focus on military tech with a little too much colony building tech I suppose. Hovever, I don't research medical or recreational so the colonist turn into big babies if you have the knowledge but don't use it.
I suppose on my next game I'll focus solely on military tech until the other bases are destroyed while trying to 'up' my population.
With that strategy, does it make sense to reseach GORF and DIRT?
Assuming it DOES make sense to research RARE ORE processing to get the weapons to kill other colony or does it? I suppose with enough small units I can overwhelm plymouth.

You should be ready to attack well before they get EMP missiles. Probably about when they're starting their second base you should at least be building your attack force. If you're quick enough, you should be able to take out a base or two with laser lynxes. Maybe even all three of them. If that fails though, they tend to get too dug in and you'll probably need better weapons.

I have done it. Its definetely possible in medium and with some practise also in hard. You just have to concentrate on military till you got some lasers (can't remember how many) and attack bases in the right order. The middle one is the main base. It should be destroyed first, because its most advanced and will probably have too heavy defences if you attack it too late. You really have to find the right mark. Attack too early and your forces won't be strong enough, attack too late and you've had your chance for an early attack.
Then of course you need warfare tactics to attack in the right way.

I find medical centers a necessity, they slow colonist death rate (just further increasing morale)
