Title: Who wants to be part of the OPU Development team?
Post by: Leviathan on March 23, 2005, 05:18:46 PM
The Outpost Universe Development Team is realy the people who are capable of coding, programming, etc. for Outpost 2.
The people who can add to the game and/or work together to produce projects like colony maps, multiplayer maps, and anything else OP2 related.
Currently they are: op2hacker, Hooman, Haxtor (Moogle in irc), Eddy-B and Leviathan.
People who we were considering: xamlit if he has the time to code for OP2. RockNavator and Shuffles if they are about to help out.
Any other coders?
It's hard to get stuff made with so few people and it takes time, but it is the main thing we need people for in order to keep the game alive. Also we didn't make the point of saying that it's not actually just for op2 missions, it's for any community projects like web site etc.

I'm definetly up to the task, I have just about all sumer before  I start college/university... I am out of school now and i bascially have alot of time. I 've gotten my feet pretty wet and Hooman and Hacker are excellent instructors. I encourage anyone with any desire at all to just jump in and start tinkering with code.

And if there's anyone else who is willing to learn, we can teach you.

You don't even really need to know a lot of C++ (if any) to do it.

You could also be part of the devteam in other ways by doing things like making maps, techtrees, and whatnot. (These don't require any programming knowledge)

I know enough about C++ that i can use hacker's template to program dlls for maps if needed. Other then that i don't know enough of anything, except Flash development which Saibot could easily outdo with superior HTML skill.

You can count me in! I know C++ ( I'm currently learning the language in school, and I think I'm pretty good  :)  ). I will do all I can to be helpful.
