I'm a programmer/developer from the 'stone age' of computers, got my commercial start early in 1985 (sold my first application! Yayy!), and decided that programming was the life for me. As a result, in my wanderings from OS to OS, I've learned an interesting mix of languages. And you know - the more things change, the more they stay the same. Names may differ, but there really aren't too many ways to perform logic branching or other general application flow, right?
I entered the world of game development lat in 1989, working in C for DOS and Windows, and if I thought commercial applications contained detailed code - I hadn't seen anything yet. Computer Gamesmanship literally drives the market nowadays, and if your machine will run the latest games, it will run anything the commercial and/or industrial markets have to offer.
I'm currently involved in getting the degree that I should have 20+ years ago, and have three sons whom I have infected with the software development bug (and bug eradication!) fever as well. My wfie doesn't particularly appreciate the computer, labelling it as "the mistress", but it's not every guy who has the wife and the mistress under the same roof, now is it? :evil laugh:
And that's about it. We live in South-Eastern North America, in the state of North Carolina. (Apparently 'Denial' was already taken... ...welcome to the South! -_- )

Big warm welcome to ya :)
Nice to have more 'oldies' hehe, Eddy-B is one of them. majority of the rest of us are under 20.
Hope ya do some C++ scripting for OP2 missions, we need more developers.
:op2:

Actually, since I donwloaded the [genius-level] DSK, I think I may be able to just that! I'm glad I found this board - it would take months - maybe even years - to accomplish something like all of this!
Kudos to you all! Keep :op2: alive! (I'll try to do my part, as well!)

Hope you enjoy the SDK but dont spend too much time on it.. yet!
The new SDK is right around the corner.

Yes welcome. And we should be having a new SDK released anytime now. It's gone through a few final adjustments and is largely just waiting to be posted I think. Still many details left to fill in, or at least explore all the full uses of. We certainly wouldn't mind someone else giving it a try.

Welcome, LongFist.
I'm afraid to say that I'm one of those 'under 20' people Lev was telling you about, bt don't worry, I won't hold it against you [img]http://www.ulrichandhelvas.com/forum/smileys/haha2.gif[\img] (sorry, just had an entire thing of lifesavers breath mints at school before reading how much sugar was in them. I've been laughing at the wierdest things since)
