howdy I am new to this site
I stumbled onto it when I was looking for outpost 1.
can you still get outpost 1?
is there a way to play a outpost 2 sandbox games?
-
Info about getting OP1 is here: http://forum.outpostuniverse.net/index.php?showtopic=1070 (http://forum.outpostuniverse.net/index.php?showtopic=1070)
As far as OP2 sandbox games, the closest you can get to "sandbox" (For now) is with the unit reference tutorials.
Someone (I can't remember who) is working on a sandbox mission that apparently will let you fight AI and whatever else.
Come and play some OP2 multiplayer :)

thanks for your help and I am not good yet so I can't play multiplayer :P
-
That's totally fine, lol, don't ever think you aren't good enough to play multiplayer.
We can teach you how to get better, and there are people with similar skill levels. Don't feel bad :)

Its no worry, I've trained noobs myself, I once had one that asked "whats a nursery do?"
We all know that is essential to colony survival, and no I don't remember who asked that... I think that was a while ago.
-
what does a nursery do ?
[just kidding]
HEY hello spirit1flyer
-
well I do have a question about the nurserys :P does having more of them help?
-
nope
-
thanks :)
walk off muttering "and their I was making five nurserys" :P

Well, it does increase morale temporarily when you build one, but it doesn't make your colony have kids faster.
I think it's the same way for the University (I could be wrong? some one please correct me if I am), where it has a temporary positive morale effect, but having more doesn't make workers faster. (I think)

My manual is of a different opinion. Nurseries reduce infant mortality. AndAn Active University is required for Children to become Workers.
-
you require a active nursery 2 produce children then a active universery to turn them into workers.

thanks for all the help I am doing a lot better now that I know how morale works in the game :)

What's up everybody??
I'm too happy to have discovered this web site. I thought I was the only one who likes OP2 . Fortunately, i'm not alone (thumbsup) (thumbsup) (thumbsup)
Still i have a question: After downloading new maps, I have some problems playing them,or should I say, I don't know how to use them, how to play them. if you can help me, I would be soooooooooo happier!
-

actually, I think it depends on game type. In one of the colony games, I built a second nursery, and all of a sudden I was getting twins and triplets for the first time ever.

Actually people, I decided to test this today while playing Eden SP 2 and Plymouth SP 2
Both time's, I got more children and more workers when having two nurserys and two universatys
I had over 500-600 population between the 1000-1300 marks
vs 300-400 population between the 1400-2000 mark with just ONE Nur and ONE Uni
But, I think it does very, cause when I was playing the population one. It didn't matter at all how many nur's and uni's I had, my populations child rate remained the same as if I had only one nur
But, then again, it could be because I'm a very fast builder and have a mind for micro-managing (shrugs) who knows
-
From earlier experiences I'd also say having multiple University's/Nursury's increases the number of workers trained/children born.
But then again, it has been a long time, and I had somewhat 5000 (If I remember correctly  ) Eden spacerace map, just never bothered to launch and settled on the whole map. The sheer size of the population might have had something to say, but it seemed I got more workers/children with more universitys/nursuries..
-
yup,
I think the number of birth does not depend at all on the number of nurseries but the number of workers and scientists ( even the tutorial says that you only need one nursery). However, the workers are as twice "active" as the scientists are . Check it out in the tutorial!
And .. uh.. does anyone have an answer to my question?
-
Well, we can put this little debate to rest pretty soon... Just need to look at a couple things... As far as I know, it depends on your colony size, how many workers vs how many scientists you have.
-

Most (actually all, atm) new maps are multiplayer maps. You'll have to play multi in order to use them.

.. let's start on some COLONY maps then.. we are a team, i can build a very simple AI to go with any map; but it has to be a new map, since the pie-maps don't do well for single players. I'll let ai completely up to you; just let me know what you want the player to start with, where the beacons should be, disasters, etc..
As for REAL single players,,,, i guess ur gonna have to wait for Renegades to come out of beta!
