So, I noticed that I almost always enter the lobby as Green, my color.

Does the game remember peoples color preferences?

Nope, it's just you probably have the same position usually.

Spike is correct, the game defaults to color assignments based on the player number.

It depends on join order. It's funny how it starts with blue (colour 1), instead of red (0).

It's actually the other way around... blue is 0, red is 1

For me it always starts with red (for the host).

Yeah it typically does. Somebody must just flip the color before others join.

In the order of my favorite to least favorite:

1) Magenta
2) Red
3) Blue
4) Yellow
5) Cyan
6) Green

... based on how easily they are noticeable on the mini map. Of coursed most likely based on my perception.
