Introduction And Outpost 2 Help Request

Hey everybody!  Wonderful site you have here.  I actually bought outpost 1 way back in the day and thought it was fun, but way too hard back then.  I recently found it, got back into it, and have looked into outpost 2 now.

Unfortunately, (and I'm starting to wonder if I'm crazy, since I can't find an answer to this anywhere on netland and I would think it would be a common problem...) I can't beat the SECOND LEVEL on the eden campaign because I need
a) 6000 units of metal
B) 2000 units of food
and I have 7 cargo trucks that each carry 1000 units!  And I can't find any structures that build cargo trucks!  How do I get 8000 units of stuff into 7000 units of cargo?

Anyway, I'm probably missing something simple, but I just hope I'm not crazy.

I suspect you're missing a cargo truck. They're all possible, I've been through that level on all difficulties.

Don't you have a to build a Vehicle Factory in that level? It's been a while since I played the campaigns. You probably have to research the right tech before you can build it.

Ummm.... well, theres 4 cargo trucks by the mine, and 4 by the smelter, and 6000 + 2000 = 8000 / 1000 = 8, i think u self destructed one >_>

Self-destructing units on Mission 1 or 2 = auto-fail.

Edit: Point being that if this was the case, he'd know.
Anyways, this is becoming less an introduction and more a help request.  Maybe it's time to move the topic or make a new one?
