Drone Post
« on: April 13, 2007, 08:59:39 AM »
The Drone Post is a stationary structure that deploys walking mini supernova bombs that are lethal to enemy tanks.

Statistics:
Plymouth:
Drone Post:
HP: 480: Due to construction bay requirements
Armor: Medium
Detection Range: Very Long
FP: capable of deploying Drone Spiders or EMP Bomb Spiders
Containment capacity: 12
Common Ore: N/A
Rare Ore: N/A
3rd Ore: Not implemented yet
Power: 25
Colonists: None

Drone Spider:
HP: 25
Armor: None
Speed: Ultra Fast
Range: Ultra Long: (This is the distance it will chase objects)
FP: self-destruct which does heavy damage to surrounding targets
Common Ore: 40
Rare Ore: 15
(After it travels a certain distance it becomes diabled due to the fact that it moves on battery power, it can be recharged by a repair capable vehicle in which it can then return to the Drone Post that constructed it)

EMP Bomb Spider:
HP: 25
Armor: None
Speed: Very Fast
Range: Ultra Long: (This is the distance it will chase objects)
FP: self-destruct which disables surrounding targets
Common Ore: 30
(After it travels a certain distance it becomes diabled due to the fact that it moves on battery power, it can be recharged by a repair capable vehicle in which it can then return to the Drone Post that constructed it)

Good:
A. Instills FEAR into the enemy
B. Distracts enemy targets so your big guns can hit em.

We dont need the next best unit that can kill any thing in sight ok.

Besides we already have exploding Guard posts.  There usless and if the lynx run in to the base youll get f***ed by your own units.

No no no!!!!!!!

You locate this far outside the colony...... The spider vehicles that it produces have MINATURE supernova bombs that destroy lynx's but only damage anything stronger than a lynx, also the spiders have low HP making them easy to destroy. I'm not saying we need a minature vehicle that can destroy an armada.... I think the blast radius of the supernova spiders would be 100% effective within 1 square but it would be significantly less outside of that area...... Also this gives you a reason to keep your vehicles spread out! Hey lynx are probably the worst thing you could use on these things...... By the time a lynx turns it's turret while it and the spider are moving it's already on top of the spider! It would be best to have a vehicle move into range of the auto deployment of the spiders and then have a bunch of stationary tigers waiting to blast them as they come!

just having it FAR away from the colony is a good enough reason not to have it.  If there was going to be Super nova/flare arachnid units they would be built from the proper building.

sounds similar to this one: http://forum.outpostuniverse.net/index.php?showtopic=2726

I don't see why one would build a drone-post far away from the colony. Its either too weak to survive outside, or it must be so strong that it is uber. You say, people shall only build these posts far away from their bases, but imagine what if someone masses them in his/her base. Its not going to work.

The biulding manufactures the vehicles and building it near the colony would be taking the risk of damaging thier own units. Also we could implement that the Drone Posts rate of deployment is rather slow.

People dont build starflare gps in there base for a reason or at all.  Having building that deploys a unit and then it explodes would not be a good thing in a base as i would take a hand full of lynx and run them straight for your CC and let your walking auto spider bombs destroy it for me.

The use for it is to STALL an enemy assault.... And I'm not saying you must build a spider and then launch it before you can byuild another..... It has a storage capacity of 12 it just deploys them relativly slowly, at the rate of like what the thor's hammer originally fires. Plus the spider have a limited movement range before the can't move! I'm not asking for a post that launches walking 40 vehicle killing nukes! It's just slightly less powerful than running a supernova lynx into an enemy column and hitting the big red button!

small units that can be killed by a lynx with easy arent going to stop a assault or even stall them.

i dont have to worry about that with Acid cloud or ESG.  And if there so hard to hit then there is even less of a point to have them.

Freeza wanted to say that He wouldn't have to worry about them if he has an ESG or Acid Cloud, and even if it is too hard to hit them, there is no point having them.
Well i think...

Ha Ha Ha!
Final Armageddon? Very funny. And interesting ideas.
Enough laugh for one topic.

Remember: we (everybody here) do not want to see some kind of redundancy in units (Unit A evolves into Unit B, but Unit B is already Available in garage, and Unit C turns into Unit A). Also, we-all do not want to have weapons of mass destruction.

Thank you for Posting.
if anyone finds and communicate to us that which thus far has eluded our efforts, great will be our gratitude.
