Does anyone remember that WON moderator, who was a girl, that everyone was in love with (as ridiculous as the idea is)? Everyone (EVERYONE) would always take a minute to say hi to her, just to see her type back, "Hiya (insert username)!" It was quite ridiculous but added a lot of personality to WON. So... that is all.

- Tasha (longtime secretary of the shadow clan)
- Horsegirl (Changed her name later on, think she joined Black Dragons)
- Red Sonya (Ran ADL together with Norad)
- Amyrlin Seat (Think it was a female hiding behind this nick, though I'm not 100% sure)

Got the feeling I've left a few out, but I can't remember any others right now..

Just wondering, are there any females here at the OPU? I think it always adds an interesting element to games, knowing that you're playing against the Female Mind. The sad truth of the matter is, not a lot of girls play games.

I dunno, in my opinion, I think playing games with girls sometimes adds kind of a nice balance. Granted, I wouldn't want that all the time, but it's nice to shake things up. I can think of a billion reasons that a female would not want to reveal her gender on the internet in general, but here at OPU, would she have a reason? Honestly, maybe she would... but you guys seem like a great bunch nevertheless... so far...

C'mon, show yourselves! I promise at least I will be nice.
Plus you'll probably kick my trash at OP2 anyway.

This is actually a good reason in itself why someone might not want to "reveal" themselves. Would you rather be known as someone who contributes to the forum or plays good games, or simply be known as:

"That girl that beat me."
"That girl everyone stopped by to say hi to."
"That girl on WON"

I'm not saying anything about what people think, but for some reason some people get giddy and goofy about the whole thing.

WoW is a very good example of this. Have you seen the stuff that goes on when it comes to females on WoW.... i tell you, I have a 32 Human Mage (Female) and I get hit on all the time - please note that I personally am Male.

You don't see a lot of female players mostly because they have different interests then males. It boils down to a psychology.

Then there is the fact that a lot of female do not feel comfortable in the mostly male dominated areas of the internet. This has mostly to do with people being able to hide themselves behind the lies that are so easy to generate behind the computer. Not to mention all the sexual flax they get from anonymous people. And other such things that males talk about so openly on the internet when they can get away with it.

oh yes I think the only female player that still comes around is Mem.

Yeah, I guess it's all pretty obvious. I suppose my general feeling is that as the gaming world is dominated by males, it's just kind of fun to know if there are girls participating. It adds a sense of balance. In general, women think and act differently than men, adding yet more variety to the way games are played. You could compare it to a road trip, when it's just you and a few other guys, it can be a blast, but in my opinion, it's always fun to have girls along too, even if you have no romantic interest in them whatsoever.

I'm pretty sure this topic is milked for what it's worth...

It seems like mostly guys playing, but then you get players like Falcon and Mem...they're just so awesome at the game. The best thing about playing against the female mind is that there is less cahnce of a sore loser or an overbering winner. I get so pissed off at people who get all cocky 'cause they beat me one time after I killed them several times in a row and only said "good game" or "good efforet" afterwards -.-

anyone remember that southpark where Bebe gets breast implants and suddenly all the guys think shes "really cool" but dont know why? yeah this reminds me of that...

something to remember is that most of the the guys who play games online are an only child or are single. having a relationship precludes participating properly in gaming so yeah. games = single.

never believe someone is female. there are no girls on the internet. also, according to dateline if you ever found a real female youd probably somehow be hauled in by the FBI.
