Combat-centered Colony Game?

One of my favorite Colony Games is Eden Starship. Why? Cuz, if you're good, you can wipe Plymoth off the map. Nothing warms my heart more than seeing my army of Thor's Hammer Tigers breaking through the Plymoth lines and shocking the hell out of the Plymoth command centers.

Has anyone ever programmed a combat Colony Game? One where the objective is to destroy the enemy colony?

Just wondering, as I doubt I'm good enough for multiplayer. Plus my connection is a little dodgy at the moment.

for cold war the entire point is to destroy the ply adv lab, and you have to level a good part of their colony before doing so

word of warning however, no matter what you think your skill level is, play it on easy, normal may have only been won 1 or 2 times out of all the people playing it, and hard is strictly impossible, no matter how good you are you can't win it, its a simple fact

Cold War on Easy was a walk in the park. Build two quad turret arrays on either side of the right-most mine, and you're safe for the rest of the game. Plymoth never even researched Panthers. I coulda taken the base out with <10 Thor's Hammers.

Cold war? That map i got from the Outpost 2 I downloaded from you guys? Hell damnit, Plymouth always atack me before i even research the damn lasers.

Now, but I like the ideia of a combat oriented colony game. There's a map editor for Outpost 2, right? I would love to play a game where I must STOP the enemy from launching the starship they got.

I just encountered this same problem...

Is there any sort of a work-around?  Is it being fixed?

Having survived in this scenario long enough to amass overwhelming force, it's particularly un-satisfying to have the game freeze up just when victory is at hand!

Any suggestions...?

flare their toks, that will disable their buildings and for some reason after that it wont crash

I think someone should make a new combat-based colony game. Cold War is good, but I think it's a little small and too hard. What about a game where you have to STOP the enemy from launching the starship?

I agree with him though maybe the enemy should have like an ai to make it a little harder like if it's an plymith it should have an eden colony just to make it harder. but thats my thought.

For people who play Cold war just use laser lynx they do not make the game crash as it seems any other weapons do. And on the point of combat based colony game look in maps i got a idea for one
