Electronic Project
« on: September 28, 2006, 02:46:34 PM »
I've been working on an electronics project the last of months.
A prototype has been finished last august, but i never shared it with you guys, so you'd know what i been doing this summer.

Below are some pics of the prototype:

It is 100% designed by me: both the hardware design and the software (it runs on a microcontroller).

Specs:
Program size: 1k bytes
Character data: 640 bytes
Data memory available for text: 2k bytes (upto 8k bytes supported)
Display: 20x7 dots, expandable to 80x7 dots with current software (hardware allows unlimited expansion)
Power consumption < 5 Watts
Programming: via COM port with any pc @ 1200 baud.

Has a hardware/software error detection mechanism to prevent burnout.

Looks very cool!

I remember when you were telling me about this. What was your choice for the microcontroller?
