Opu Web Hosting
« on: March 16, 2006, 02:17:01 PM »
I wanted to post this in another topic because it's really important that people follow along with these directions, to get their hosting set up again.

We are NOT setting up anyone's account 'automatically' just because you had hosting when we were on Punboy's server, as we must recreate all the accounts.

If you want to continue being hosted by OPU, you MUST get in direct contact with either myself, or zigzagjoe. The best way to do this would be via forum PM.
You should give us a password you would like to use to log into your webspace.

I believe Joe has attempted to PM those who had hosting with us, again either respond to that PM or tell one of us that you would like to continue being hosted, if that's what you want.

We have backups of all the account information so we can restore it when we re-create your account.

If you do not notify either of us, we will assume that you do not want hosting from us anymore.

By default your new hostname will be http://users.opu.org.uk/username or http://users.outpostuniverse.net/username but we can add subdomain redirection if you wish.

Update on webhosting: We now have FTP service for those of you who are hosted.

To access it, use:
server: outpostuniverse.net
port: 14901
(some FTP clients, including webbrowsers, don't have a place to put the port, so use outpostuniverse.net:14901 as the hostname on those clients)

username/password: same as your account username/password.

If you have any problems with using FTP please let us know!
