Help Me With My Usb Problem
« on: December 20, 2005, 02:19:57 PM »
Well, I have had this problem since like... I don't know... a long time, and I want to fix it. Can someone please help me?
It's a problem with the USB Root Hub.

Thanks. By the way, it's Win98SE
if anyone finds and communicate to us that which thus far has eluded our efforts, great will be our gratitude.

You mean was?

It gave an error message saying that the ntkern.vxd couldn't load (code 2) -- same  as the USB root hub, but now it's all fixed.

lol. I've heard of problems like that, but a simpler fix exists.

All the win98 system VXDs are stored inside a file VMM32.VXD (I think)

Supposedly there's a way to extract the files which have gone missing from the VXD and back into the system folder, so they work properly.

You could try googling it if you're interested, but oh well, it seemed to work fine by reinstalling.

lol, thanks for the Hint, but I already tried that and it didn't work.  And yeah, I think you meant using the "sfc" command :P I did try a bunch of stuff and none of them worked.

Back in the days when i used 98se i could never get the VXD files to install no matter what even if i put in a new device.  I just had to reinstall.

1 its simple but as long as you back up stuff you want.
2 you dont have to deal with 98se being a prick and just teach it a lesson by reinstalling lol
