Greetings all.
« on: December 20, 2004, 04:39:16 AM »
Hello. I'm Ace. I got Outpost 1 when I was quite young and then Outpost 2 later. I've always held both games in high reguard, OP2 being my favorite. I was looking around today trying to locate a replacement ISO for my now shattered (x.x) Outpost 1 CD when I came across this site. It's nice to see some active Outpost 2 people still alive. Most of the internet links referring to Outpost 1 or 2 are dead.  I'm glad I found this. Although I love to play the game, I doubt anone will want to challenge me to a match not only because my skills are ??? (No one to play here so no doubt I've lost whatever skill I used to have), but because I live on the top of the world (Barrow, AK) and am only connected Vai satelite with a ping that never goes under 1000ms. Oh well Looks like this turned into a ramble. Sorry  :heh:  I guess thats all for my introduction.

correction: We welcome anyone. :P

hmm, too bad your only way to connect is via satellite.. maybe you'll still be able to play OP2 with people with similar connections. (the lag tends to not be so bad when you play with similar connection types, like 56k-56k or whatever)

again, http://www.outpostuniverse.net/irc.htm to get connected into our community!

Welcome! :)

Hey hey, I've been playing the campaigns for years, and let me tell you, until almost a month ago I didn't know there was something as an OP2 community, let alone that you could still play OP2 in Multiplayer, which really rocks as humans are never like a computer!

Multiplayer is a new world that opens, start drooling already !

And don't worry, if there's noone to talk to on IRC, I tend to drop by on the chat on the most unsuspectable hours, like a real Blight should !

Stay away from infections !

At one point long ago, I tried a game with someone in the lower 48, trust me, no one lags quite like I do. Its a bloody shame as well, because as it was posted earlier in this thread, comps can't fight/play like people do. However, when I move out of this sad excuse for a settlement I guarantee I'll be on.

And to fix a possible mix up of words that werent quite read properly, I have -lost- all the skill I used to have. but thats easily remedied with a few hundered games against humans. Anyhow, thanks for the welcome all, this place looks awesome.

Look at it this way, you can't be noobier then me as I haven't played in some time, and currently can't play because of certain *ahem* ISP problems.

Hey. Uhhh.. :heh:  This may be the stupidest question ever posted but how do I join the outpost channel. I downloaded the IRC client and it joines some quake server with only 8 channels. None of which had anything to do with IRC. I've never really used IRC before so...>.> The easiest way to tell me would be to IM me..
MSN (Rezzo_The_Red_Priest@hotmail.com)
Yahoo (Lasermind2000)
AIM (SSATBSOD)

Thanks,  :heh:
