Where did you do that Beta? I've seen the Secretary of Defense a couple of times, but never the president (the Secretary of Defense is my second highest boss next to the President).

Heh, I saw on TV when he came to my town, watched him get off air force one into the motorcade, then went to the superior dome to do his rally.

(Btw. they had more secret service people and were more guarded than usual.. perhaps they thought we are all terrorists around here?
I heard in fact that they wouldn't let a person enter the rally who had a kerry button on... interesting, since you could say that blocks the concept of democracy.)

I do have some friends who got to shake Bush's hand, as well.

It must be a rush to shake the hand of the most powerful man in the world.

We don't live in a democracy.  We live in a Federal Republic.  That means
Federal: Goverment
Republic: Representation

So, really, you just elect someone to represent you.  If you don't like it, start you're own country. (Which I would like to do someday. Need some land though... Welded floating oil drums?   ) lol. oh well...

First off, the media is mostly biased. This has been proven. Watch Fox News, they aren't.
No...

Fox News broadcasts everything from a conservative standpoint (GOP anyone?).  They are just as biased as any other news network.

GOP - Good Old Party.

I've watched FOX before.  I've seen them slam Bush a few times.  I guess by being fair, they just slam both parties instead of supporting them. :)

GOP - Good Old Party

... it's Grand Old Party.

As for Fox News, they are the most objective network, when compared to the mainstream media, of course they will see to have a right-ward bias. To get a good idea of the slanting of the mainstream media's (ABC, CNN, CBS, NBC, and others) news, I recommend the book, Bias, by Goldberg.

To quote you on another thread, Patriot:

"I am a conservative first, and a republican second."

Hm.  Well, no wonder you think Fox News is the most objective.

Well, US and Iraqi intelligence have reason to believe that Iran is behind all of the insurgents. If we manage to have a free Iraq set up in the middle east, it will be an example of how the other Middle East nations can reform themselves. See, the terrorists, they are muslim extremists, not exactly mainstream opinion. With a free Iraq, chances of them getting any power there are slim to none.
