Warehouse

And a warehouse draft, in variety of colors. (Details are pretty washed out here.)

Warehouse model without the framework, but with ribbed walls.

This version looks good in the red. The one with the ribbed structure looks better in the blue-grey.

Personally I prefer the one with the ribbed structure.

Also, a suggestion -- render something at 256x256 but in a perspective mode like OP1 BMP's 845 - 849b -- I'd like to get something similar for all structures (for the structure inspection panels) -- Doesn't need to be special, but I want to illustrate a point. The need for the added details will be needed for these closer views (if you could render both versions of the warehouse like this we could compare between them).

How about these? I did not add any details for these pictures. The only difference is one version includes the edge lines and the other does not.

And here's the original that I used for the model perspective, from the wiki.

This is exactly perfect.

The one with lines is superior -- it's amazing how subtle the difference is but how much of a difference it really makes.

I added a bit of detail and redid both types of graphics, just to get a sense of how the details translate between the library type picture and the terrain tile sprite.

Very nice.

Your 3rd model in the first post looks a bit wintery. Perhaps add some elves walking about, and maybe a sleigh. Could be used for a "Santa Walking" easter egg. ... or not. :P

The perspective shots are pretty cool. Very close resemblance (minus the monorail), without being an exact copy. Certainly higher resolution than the originals.

As requested, here is the warehouse without the terrain tile.

As much as I like version 3 of the Warehouse structure up-close, in-game with that middle part it starts to look like a big blue blob. (this is hard, huh?)

I have a feeling the version version will look the best in-game though you could add the orange details onto the rims.

Maybe make the structures connected along the long edge instead of showing the tube in the middle.

I agree that the in-game view looks too blob-like with the middle portion. The white tube in the middle certainly breaks up the two warehouse structures. Ultimately, I think the close-up will look fine without the middle piece, provided I add a few other details.

I think I like the fourth one best.  Looks like a warehouse with good support.

Uploading the most recent color scheme, but without the middle section.

After seeing the latest revision, version 03B is even better than the others.

Just for kicks, and to see if there was any input I could add, I went back into this thread and was looking at the warehouses.  While looking at the different versions, something struck me.  The whole icon looks like a pair of eyes looking at you.  ???  Or even like the cartoons where a character was looking through binoculars and their eyes were magnified on the front optics.  That's kind of how this looks.  This was for the medium sized pictures of the warehouses.  In the game-sized icons it wasn't quite as bad, and it won't likely be as noticeable with other structures around it.  The closeup gets even creepier as the end of each warehouse half looks like a face with an open mouth.  Just some of the things I notice while casually walking through the threads. :)

I thought the old warehouse structure looked like the tube was a nose and the doors are eyes. I thought that was a log creepier. :P
