Programming is Hard
« on: October 11, 2016, 11:43:03 AM »
As a side note and a sort of educational response to my rant about how users seem to think programming isn't that hard, I wanted to post this article I came across. It explains very well how and why programming is a difficult task and why we shouldn't be afraid to label it as hard.

Interesting read. Some good points in there. Makes me rethink advice I've given.

Also funny you should post that just now. I was just dropping by the forums to drop a link to something I just read:
How It Feels To Learn JavaScript in 2016

That pretty much sums up the web development courses I was taking a few months ago.

I also just read the related article on deployments: It's the Future

Also sounds about right.

That "It's the future" article was cringe worthy. That was a difficult read... and only because I've had conversations like that before where my eyes glaze over and I effectively just tell the 'consultant' or, in many cases, the just graduated compsci major to piss off.
